You were once a noble adventurer until your body was taken over by a demon. You wake inside the mind of the demon Asura, trapped together with all the other
souls the demon has consumed over the ages. It's your goal to recover your body, slaying the lost souls within the demon's mind, gaining the skills they had in life and finally slaying the demon Asura.

The difficulty spike in this game is intense, and the UI is clunky and unforgiving. Pressing Esc will exit your current battle without any warning for example. The tutorials are just 3 videos by someone with a heavy accent going over the interface in the most complicated fashion. The battles start dead easy, but then they get crazy intense and practically impossible without heavy experimentation. Feels too difficult at early levels. The arrow inputs are creative, but they feel pretty cumbersome and pointless at first glance. That aspect of the game actually makes a lot of sense as you play further. Overall, it feels like something out of the 90s Flash era of browser-based gaming except it costs money. I personally didn't enjoy the game, but if it looks enjoyable to you, it's cheap and not much of an investment.
While rough around the edges, Asura's Trial is a respectable effort from a first time solo developer. The content on offer is worth the price of admission, and a depth and challenge can be found if you can look past the rough interface and figure out the mechanics. The game would do well with a comprehensive tutorial of the mechanics on offer, but as it stands if you take the time there is fun to be had here.
Fun RPG with an old school feel. I found it a bit confusing at first, especially figuring out what each skill does (and there are maaaany skills). But once I got my bearings I had a good time putting my theories to the test to find the best way to best the unique monsters.
The game's fun is in finding the right skills that you can chain to crush your opponents, while in the meantime watching out on your mana/health levels, and sneaky debuffs that can ruin you, if they are not taken care of. And then you get to the bosses and your usual tactic goes out the window because they crash you mercilessly. But then you start figuring them out, unlock new skills, develop a new strategy, and what was once unbeatable, becomes just a milestone in your journey :D
Cute little game. It's fun searching for builds that work and figuring out how to min max your strategy. Reminds me of Slay the Spire.
