First impressions; it's a cool and challenging roguelike. Be prepared to be good at some things (whacking things with a big stick) and very bad at others (where moving feels like trudging through molasses), depending on your stat allocation. No real metaprogression besides some starting unlockables, so you kinda just have to get better at not dying, which is rewarding in its own right. Works like a charm on the Steam Deck!5 found this helpful
The combat, which is centered around fast-paced platforming action, feels very responsive. Every dodge, every hit, every split-second decision carries genuine weight. The difficulty is steep, don't get me wrong. When the goblin and monster hordes swarmed me, I was panicking. But it never feels cheap. You can always point to the one mistake you made, which means every failure feels like a lesson learned, not a punishment. :) For a game that keeps yelling, "START OVER!" the progression of this game is very well paced and very rewarding. The very nice looking pixel art aesthetic gives the world a unique vibe and personality. For me, it's an absolute must-play. It expertly balances a genuinely satisfying challenge with rewarding meta-progression. If you're looking for a game to instantly chew up your free time and leave you begging for more, pick this up!1 found this helpful
