AudioWizards is a fully accessible audio game for the blind and visually impaired where you battle incoming enemies using elemental spells differentiated by their unique sounds. Grab your headphones, turn up the volume, and dive into the world of Sondveiw!

AudioWizards is set in the world of Sondveiw, a world inhabited by an organization called, you guessed it, AudioWizards. The organization was formed to defend Sondveiw from Distortions, nasty creatures that thrive in noise, adamant on consuming the world in it. AudioWizards believe that sound enables their magic and gives meaning to it, but it’s hard to find harmony with all that distorting noise around. You play as an apprentice who travels with a seasoned wizard called Saundaman. Saundaman’s teaching methods are pretty much “learn as you go” while he quenches his never-ending thirst for tea.

So after quite a wait a new Audiogame arrinves n Steam. A mobile port that shows its origins by telling you to swipe rather than use a specific key. Forgivable though. So does it succeed in what it set out to do? In short … Yes. This game can be played by someone with no vision. It is a basic shooter where by you aim to take out an element by zapping it with its opposing element. It will approach down one of three lanes. Use the arrow keys to select an element then use them again to fire down a lane. You have to tell which element it is by the sound it makes and which lane it is in by where the sound is coming from in your headphones. There is a short tutorial, Story Mode and an Endless Mode. It is a challenge and will provide something you can return to for a quick blasy. Price is reasonable. For all us Visually Impaired gamers this is well worth a go as it offers something different from all the Visual Novels out there. It shows what can be done with audio alone. For other gamers give it a go and rely on a different set of senses for a change!12 found this helpful
