"Auro: A Monster-Bumping Adventure" is a poorly made mobile app that was dumped on Steam, presumably because Google and Apple took out restraining orders or something. The mobile app stores have quality control where Valve doesn't, of course, which explains how all this mobile garbage ends up here. What do you do in the game? Well it's a crappy minimum viable product turn based hex map strategy-lite, with no content because the developer thinks procgen algoriths are an acceptable substitute. They are not. The graphics aren't great... that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lo…3 found this helpful

Recommended only for hardcore players. Not for casual player. Fun game at first. But it gets repetitive and boring very quick. Progress is hard. One loss means you need to repeat the challenge twice to progress, forcing you to face the same situation again. It could have been designed as a stage-based system instead of rank-based. Probably getting better when you figured out all the enemies and strat. A correct move can wipe out all enemies, which is very satisfying. However, skill cooldowns do not reduce while engaging enemies, so if you make a wrong decision, a loss is almost guaranteed.

The game still experiences a bug which freezes a match every 6 or so matches. When a match freezes, you have no choice but to restart or quit, which deducts points from your rank in the ranking system. This. Is. Not. Fair. And this game's been abandoned from updates too so it's not getting fixed. Save yourself the headache of losing matches you didn't deserve to lose.
