Awakening Sarah builds upon the foundations of its predecessor by delivering a surreal and emotionally charged adventure that blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and introspective storytelling into a memorable package. Developed by Asteristic Game Studio and Anthony Septim and published by Asteristic Game Studio, the game once again places players in the role of Sarah, a young girl trapped between consciousness and dreams as she struggles to awaken from a coma. Rather than presenting its story through lengthy dialogue or exposition, the game invites players to uncover its mysteries organically, allowing every discovery to feel meaningful. This approach gives Awakening Sarah a unique identity, appealing to players who enjoy atmospheric experiences that leave room for interpretation. The game's greatest strength lies in its open-ended structure. Players are free to roam through interconnected environments filled with secrets, unusual characters, and hidden pathways that reward curiosity. Each area possesses its own distinct personality, ranging from peaceful landscapes to unsettling dreamscapes that reflect Sarah's fractured state of mind. Exploration is consistently engaging thanks…

Probably one of the best Yume Nikki-like exploration games I've played so far. It absolutely nails the atmosphere while also going a step beyond by blending in different genres (definitely didn't expect the game casually throwing you into 3D levels!) Also the progression itself is genuinely fun, with a metroidvania-style structure mixed with puzzle-solving, and that's easily one of my favorite aspects of the game. I especially like its approach to puzzles and transformations. There are 24 transformations in total, and most of them have practical uses in a wide variety of situations rather than being limited to a single purpose, to the point that many puzzles can be solved in different ways depending on how creative you are with the abilities you've unlocked, which makes experimentation feel genuinely rewarding. I didn't expect that level of flexibility at all. Overall a really solid game and highly recommended if you're into dream exploration focused games.

The game is interesting to play, you can find items and they are usable across all the world, not just a single use (like in the first game)! The game contains moderate amount of secrets, but not too many and they can be found easily by an average player like me) Soundtrack is great and overall, the game is insane improvement from the first game (Dreaming Sarah). Definitely worth the price, without discounts, in my opinion.

Incredible game with beautiful visuals I can't praise the art style enough especially the cool mix between 2D and 3D elements in different areas. The soundtrack was very soothing and went perfectly with the game. The gameplay was awesome and I loved the different abilities even if some weren't as useful as others. The only downside to this game were some of the puzzles were headaches to figure out and some even impossible without looking up. For example a few achievements feel impossible to even have an idea on how to complete without looking at a steam guide. Some other puzzles like the chess piece one or the pyramid stacking one were also completely useless which made me wonder why they were even there? Still though a phenomenal game and I would highly highly highly recommend just be sure to look up a guide if you get very stuck or want all achievements.
