Backrooms: Reminiscence

You cant say its a bad game its well made for what it is and the prize is low, for me theres one strong objective issue and its the stamina bar, walking in this game is extraordinaly slow, its probably as slow as a human can walk, so when you have a stamina bar all it does is make moving around harder and tedious, It actually makes exploration be something you dont wanna do because if you gotta circle back you gotta do it at a snail pace for the durations that you cant run, total screwjob doing this, some have said its to make runtime longer and i cant disagree. My issue with this game secondarily is the fact to me the graphics are not very good and just kinda look like generic assets and not imerrsing, but beyond that i cant dislike it on a review becuase its wellmade for what it is.

A short and well made backrooms game.

Nothing extravagant; but a relaxing walking sim with a simple story and atmospheric setting. Short experience with a little replayability for a budget price.

Super immersive

Backrooms: Reminiscence is a fantastic exploration into the unknown, and what really struck me was the minute environmental detail — even something as simple as the wallpaper slowly shifting from traditional to subtly uncanny as you descend deeper into the Backrooms. That gradual visual decay does so much heavy lifting for the atmosphere. The Poolrooms section, for me, was the only area that felt slightly underdeveloped. It’s effective, but compared to the rest of the game’s creativity, it could have used a stronger visual or mechanical twist to make it stand apart. That said, I really appreciated the airport/mall liminal spaces — those transitional, semi-public environments feel less commonly explored than the usual endless hallways, and they were executed with a strong sense of scale and emptiness. The office-type areas were another highlight; mundane corporate architecture becomes genuinely oppressive in this context. What impressed me most was the sheer size of each level. The spaces feel expansive without feeling artificial, and the subtle entity encounters — the brief glimpses, the distant movements, the almost-missed silhouettes — create tension far more effectively th…

Graphics are decent and the levels are mapped out nicely. I only wish the game lasted a little longer. Would like to have explored some new levels.
