✦ AI summary
BattleMore is a polished indie RTS that draws inspiration from classic games like Command & Conquer, praised for its quirky humor, comedic voice acting, and solid design effort. However, players consistently note that it feels underdeveloped, suffering from sluggish unit response times, occasional crashes, menu transition issues, and a lack of the addictive gameplay that made its inspirations memorable, though the game shows promise with continued development.
"BattleMore" is one of those games where it's difficult to write the review. Most games on Steam are just bad, and it's obvious why (I mean, there's over 120,000 games on Steam due to Steam Direct letting anyone burn $100 to dump garbage here, and it happens a lot... 50 new games every day!). So when you see a game that comes so very, very close to greatness, it's a wretch. That's BattleMore. It's more than just amateur dross, there's a lot of polish and it's clear that a professional design approach was taken here. What do you do in the game? A take on old school RTS that makes 8 Bit Armies look, well, even worse than it does, but unfortunately it just lacks that je ne sais quoi that made games like Command & Conquer so addictive. I'd say keep an eye on the dev for BattleMore 2, but their future projects are a crappy cringefest e-book and some pixel looking top down shooter... this is a lot like Bethesda announcing they abandoned Elder Scrolls 6 and are now working on an RPG Maker asset flip. Visually, this has some fairly mediocre/dated looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to at…3 found this helpful
For an independent game, this is a well-made, comedic RTS with its own quirky touch. Play it for the lulz. My only complaint is regarding the transition between modes and menus. It often feels like the game has crashed even though it hasn't.3 found this helpful
Considering I'm a noob SC2 Player it was fun to play this game... I mean it reminded me of the early stages of C&C, SC1 and/or Red Alert Series it still has some potential in it. Considering RTS players are used to fast responses on unit selection and moving I can honestly say that it lacks of it... But still considering it's made on unity I can only applaud it for their effort! Although I'm only sharing the campaign for a few minutes I've played the skirmish and easily can say that hopefully the bugs and response (unit selection) times will improve and it will be a decent game to play when looking for different types of RTS games. Ps: I think it's still better than " Grey Goo" First 20min Gameplay here2 found this helpful
It's a fun but largely underdeveloped game with at least one crash to desktop bug I have found. The game doesn't take it's self seriously at all and neither should you. The voice acting fits the dialogue is all I'll say. It does fit that many of the enemies you fight are essentially just laughable jokes but otherwise the story is just a means to and end to pit you against the AI in various scenarios. One and a half fleshed out factions with starcraft/C&C style gameplay. It's basic and simple with the same kinds of stuff you might find in many other classic RTS titles.1 found this helpful
Peak, light comedy, great game :3c i'm entertained also the funny accent
