About Beastiarium

Beastiarium — plunge into the mysterious world full of secrets and monsters, its atmosphere will keep you in suspense throughout the story.
The action takes place in underground Petersburg in the beginning of 20th century, one hundred years later since the monsters invaded the planet. Survivors were forced to move underground and build a "new world". Next generations fully adapted to their new life and never again came to the surface. Underground hideaways were developed into full-fledged cities with complex infrastructure and life-support systems. However, the escape plan wasn't perfect: the underground cities were infiltrated by the monsters again and again, and people had to always be on guard. To control the situation, they established the Guard. But why are people afraid to leave their homes, and who is the true danger here?

Features of the game:
  • Combination of plot-driven quest and action-horror.
  • Seamless game world with sandbox elements.
  • Unique monster species and mysteries that you can cope with only if you find out their weaknesses.
  • Charismatic characters — each one with its own personality and background.
  • Developed using Unreal Engine 4 — the next generation engine.

For some reason I liked this game even though it didn't make sense. Level design is nice and the OST is decent. Very short, and it crashed once which was funny because it happened while an explosion went off in the game. 7/10

With the elaborate story that the game is described as, it seemed promising, but for a game that only takes two hours or less to beat with nothing to offer, nothing to take away, and with awful english voice acting, it's a it pricey at $14.99. There are no secrets, no sidequests, no story, and the entirely of the game is as linear as a game can be. There are really no hints or anyone in-game to assist or guide you except a creature whom you hear in your head at the end end and beginning of each stage puzzle/quest. There are maybe four 'humans'?? with terrible voice acting, that give you your mission or quest and whom you never see or talk to after that point and contribute nothing to anything other than a quest that gives you nothing other than getting you closer to completing the game. The puzzles are convoluted and confusing, yet so simple and straightforward once you figured them out which either involved trial and error or referring to a guide. One section, I think I may have died 9 times before I figured out what the hell was actually going on. I mean, how else are you supposed to know to distract electrified tuna roaming the hallways with coins you find randomly stashed awa…
