The premise is simple. You’ve been captured and thrown into a spaceship prison, and now your only way out is to climb through the ranks by competing in the ship’s card tournament. The core gameplay will feel familiar if you’ve played similar titles. You take turns drawing cards from your pile and placing them on the field. Each card can deal damage, heal, or trigger an effect, and the goal is straightforward, be the last one standing. Every card has an energy cost, shown as a circled number in the top right corner. You can play as many cards as your energy allows, and since your energy fully refills every turn, it makes sense to use it all. Even if your hand is empty, you can still draw from the shared central pile, which both you and your opponent rely on. Played cards don’t stick around forever. Some activate instantly and are destroyed right away, like healing cards, while others linger for a few turns. Weapons are a bit more involved. When placed in one of the two weapon slots on the board, they give you access to special attack cards tied to that weapon. You can then use those attacks to deal damage. Weapons stay equipped between turns, but each time you use one of their a…3 found this helpful
Deck building in its purest form so its easy to get into. You can already tell the scope of the game is large and I just read through the planned features and was shocked! I can't wait to see what gets added1 found this helpful
Interesting concept for a deckbuilder. You can get temporary cards during a battle and add permanent cards between rounds. I do wish one use cards were identified as such.1 found this helpful
To become Captain you need some savvy and don't let the rum dull your senses or you may regret your choices. Health carries over, so if you were bleeding all over the deck, you may not be in the best shape for the next fight. The game was challenging and fun. I am looking forward to playing some more and finally (hopefully) become the next Captain.
this game is a very interesting twist on deckbuilding, the cards are well detailed and varied. artstyle is fresh and completely free of Ai and offer a lot of situation varied actions to choose from. i honestly had a good time seeing it evolve from the start of its development, a lot of the effect in the game ads to each other and makes battle chaotic and with the right pattern and weapon choice makes the battles varied and fun, some enemies if you are not well equipped will whip the floor with you but as long as you learn. you will become captain!
Well, first and foremost... Wooden Buckler OP! But seriously - I've been following the project on X for a long time and supporting Frank along the journey, so for me the fact that it was released is touching and beautiful. The game itself: - had only one minor bug (one of the perks that should reduce the cost of shop refresh didn't work) - works stable - has clear rules - has a satisfying progression - has a coherent, but a bit implied story - has working and reasonable achievements - has some very unique and interesting mechanics related to how card works I wouldn't call it a 'deckbuilder' though - deck manager would fit better here, as you can easily have 0 cards in deck and it's GLORIOUS
