i'm actually not that into roguelike card battlers anymore. but this game interprets the genre a little differently. in an addictive way that's incredibly fun.3 found this helpful
Fun and simple, could be a boardgame. Only played 1 run though.
Very lightweight. A fraction of the depth of Cobolt Core.
This game is good and well worth the price. The unlocks happen a bit slower than I'd prefer (I'm still unlocking things currently) which means it doesn't really shine until several hours in. Honestly, with a bit more polish, this could be an incredible game and it could really take off. It's in need of a few balance patches and clearer wording here and there, but I'm still having a great time with it while discovering new builds. I wish the devs the best and I hope they consider making a sequel!
Fun enough for a sale. Wish that there were more than 3 ships.
This is a great roguelike builder. I don't want to call it a deckbuilder, because technically it doesn't involve a deck of cards. (Maybe the resources work a bit like a deck of cards, I'm still unclear on that.) However, it scratches a similar itch. It's that building/optimization/synergy finding sort of gameplay. There's lots of different items and starting abilities to enable different synergies. Also from a story perspective, the game is light on plot but there's a ton of different fun, lighthearted event writing to keep you entertained. There's a lot of little features that make the roguelike gameplay more enjoyable. You can reroll character and trait combinations at the start (a limited number of times), and choose a character that will show up, This makes it much easier to get specific synergistic trait combinations, and really cuts down on the restarting that you have to do in a lot of roguelikes. There's a preview that shows up in battle before you load an energy, which makes it easy to see at a glance what the results of a move will be and when you have enough damage to win, without having to do a lot of math. There's a button during battles that you can press to go back …
