About Belle-de-Nuit

Win duels and hearts as a swordswoman at the Belle-de-Nuit, Paris's finest luxury brothel! Fight for the honor of the ladies of the night in this game of swords and seductions.

Belle-de-Nuit is a 115,000-word interactive romance novel by Rebecca Zahabi, author of Never Date Werewolves. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

The Belle-de-Nuit is yours to protect, and yours to love. Some of the courtesans have been your best friends for years, and maybe you have a childhood sweetheart whom you'd like to steal from her customers… There is also the shy bartender, with a heavy secret and liquor-scented lips. They have arrived in Paris without telling anyone where they came from, why they travelled this far, or why they always seem so nostalgic.

But Madame wants you to focus on securing the next big patron for the Belle-de-Nuit. Unfortunately, he has a duelist of his own, Sebastian--so frustratingly good at fencing, he threatens your reputation as the best duelist in Paris. You are burning to defeat him in a duel...but do you want to best him with the blade, or bed him?

Madame's house is filled with lovers. But which will be yours?
  • Play as female, gay, straight or bi.
  • Indulge in Parisian nightlife, where seduction and good wine, lies and kisses go hand in hand.
  • Choose a sweetheart – or get involved with more than one – between a rival duelist, a lady of the night and the shy bartender who pours your drinks.
  • Climb rooftops, duel in narrow Parisian streets, outwit your foes, cross-dress to fool and seduce, throw a rose to your chosen one – all in a day's work!
  • Win duels, role-play as a courtesan, outwit your foes – or fall for them!
  • Uncover secrets which are only whispered at dusk, on rooftops, looking over the beautiful Parisian skyline…
  • Protect the ladies of the night as they go about their evening, get involved with pouring drinks or playing card games with the clients – or more!

You'll fight for the honor of the Belle-de-Nuit brothel, be it with steel or soft lips.

If the description caught your eye and you're trying to see if you should pull the trigger on purchasing this...I can easily recommend you dive into the lives of this colorful cast and step onto the lovingly detailed streets of of this Parisian tale. I've played several Choice Of games titles, and while I usually prefer ones with a very serious tone, this story is down-to-earth and sunny while still having many intriguing conflicts/situations to maneuver. I was initially worried that this title would be too silly with its hijinks, but instead I found that the tone was perfect. The stat and choice system is pretty clever. Instead of having just one or two catch-all "charisma" stats, it has several nuanced ones (one example includes being persuasive, but only while lying). I think it worked incredibly well, as it made small talk and conversation feel more thoughtful and open-ended than most other titles I have played. I enjoyed the multi-faceted potential of the enemies-to-lovers scenario that was both front and center of the plot while also being (somehow) pretty optional. There's a good bit of replayability here - it's totally possible to get a very happy ending and not learn ab…

The best hearts choice game. Easy, understandable Stats that tie directly into the choices, choices that matter, a very good customisible protagonist, a wide and diverse cast of both characters and romances and historical authentic enough to feel genuie, but not to enough to hinder the fun (or the queer romances). The game is a lot of fun and has a high replay value as the combination of both the personality of the mc and the romances allow for differences every time you play. The romances themselves are well written, and every one feels unique, as they are heavily tied to the specific character. Also, the romances and the mainplot are quite clever interwoven, no matter who you romance. You are also not forced into one, you can just as well stay away. Price is more than justified, as you can see that i put more time into this than a few A-Titels combined. Has a direct sequel that can be bought as a DLC and is fully integrated into this game. I higly recommend this.

I wasn't expecting to be so pulled in. I had a feeling the story would be good but before I knew it, 4 hours straight of reading went by! Which is especially saying something because before this, I was on a long streak of not having the attention-span to sit down and read. So far, the only thing I'd love to see is quality of life improvements - the ability to go back and re-read previous pages, being able to see what conditions need to be met for grayed out options, seeing what skills apply where - but I understand those would be hard to implement considering the game is finished.

To keep it short: although the described setting wasn't very promising to me and i thought "Lets clear my game library for a bit" i ended up loving this game. One of the best of it's kind to me.

the writing is engaging, and it's full of strong, queer heroes and heroines ~ and perhaps best of all, those who don't easily fit into a single kind of category. i've revisited this game and will likely do so yet again <3

I was honestly surprised that this was a story and not a game with visuals, but I was enrapt immediately by the main character and the story. I bought the DLC after finishing the first chapter. It is BETTER than a game. I plan on buying the rest of the books too. I can't wait to read it again and pursue a different character.
