About Bierzerkers

✦ AI summary

Bierzerkers is a fast-paced 5v5 team-based melee arena brawler set in a vibrant Norse afterlife where you drink, fight, and die gloriously with five unique character classes. Its arcade-style combat is easy to learn but packed with deep class interactions and environmental plays that reward mastery and teamwork.

You are dead. What happens next? Drinking and fighting, of course! As a reward for your brave deeds in Midgard (or, in the case of the Drunkard, his extreme alcohol tolerance), the gods have let you ascend to Brewhalla, where you get to do your favorite things for eternity: boozing and brawling. Have a brew, grab a weapon, and crush, kill, destroy, DRINK!

Set in a vivid, stylised, Norse afterlife, Bierzerkers is a multiplayer melee arena combat for all comers. While quick to pick up and get in some killing, the game has a great deal of depth, both individually and as a team.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their sheep!

Bierzerkers, developed and published by Shield Break Studios, is a multiplayer melee brawler that leans into a playful reinterpretation of Viking mythology, trading historical grit for a more colorful and chaotic vision of the afterlife. Set in the fantastical realm of Brewhalla, the game imagines fallen warriors continuing their battles in an endless cycle of drinking and combat, creating a tone that is equal parts humorous and competitive. It’s a premise that immediately distinguishes itself from more serious arena games, framing the experience as something meant to be enjoyed casually rather than approached with rigid intensity. The core of Bierzerkers revolves around team-based combat, typically structured around 5v5 matches where players select from a roster of Viking-inspired classes. Each class offers its own weapons, abilities, and combat style, encouraging players to experiment and find a role that suits their preferences. The combat system is centered on melee encounters, emphasizing timing, positioning, and the strategic use of abilities over precision aiming. There is a clear attempt to balance accessibility with depth—new players can jump in and understand the basics …

Recommending the game, but also don't buy it if you don't have 9 other friends to play with since the game is basically dead. A neat $5 diversion with some interesting ideas, but the game feels very early access. Studio is dead, game is dead, controls are a bit floaty and seem more like a mobile game. If this game came back as a FTP mobile game it would probably do ok. You can still play against bots but their AI isn't very good. Still, easy achievements.
