About Blackwell Unbound

✦ AI summary

Play as a jaded medium and her ghostly partner to uncover a supernatural conspiracy lurking beneath 1973 Manhattan's surface, solving paranormal mysteries and preventing a mysterious killer's next move. This atmospheric detective adventure weaves together occult investigation, period-perfect storytelling, and the unique dynamic between a skeptical psychic and her wise-cracking spirit guide.

The year is 1973. The sound of a lone, ethereal saxophone drifts over the Roosevelt Island promenade, while a series of accidents plague a midtown construction site. The citizens of Manhattan take no notice of these events, let alone think they are connected.

Embittered medium Lauren Blackwell and her spirit guide Joey Mallone are the only ones who believe that there is anything strange going on, and they are the only ones who can stop an enigmatic killer from striking again...

Blackwell Unbound is a moody, sassy, bittersweet ghost story. There are only two cases to tease apart, but the puzzles still scratch that adventure game itch. Great VA overall even if the Countess is a little overdramatised. Lauren and joey's dynamic perfectly encapsulates the light-hearted jabs between good friends (or lovers). The soundtrack is exquisite - particularly that farewell sibling saxophone duet. My introduction to Thomas Regin's gorgeously morose music comes from Unavowed, and Blackwell Unbound really cements him as one of my favourite composers.

Solid Adventure game. This is the installment where I knew I would finish the entire series.

Absolutely adored this addition to the Blackwell series, getting to meet Lauren and see the dynamic between her and Joey was so cool and intensified my love for this series. Plus the new mechanic of switching between the characters was interesting and fun. Can't wait to play the rest!

A really memorable, engrossing, and special point & click game. I loved the art style, story, and characters. Great puzzles too.
