About Bleak Haven

Tyler receives a sudden location from his missing brother’s phone.
It leads him to a remote, fog-covered island — a place of cults, silence, and things best left forgotten. He thought he came to rescue.
Instead, he walked into a nightmare.

A Cinematic Psychological Horror Experience

Bleak Haven is a survival horror game in which you'll explore abandoned villages, crypts, ruins, and underground chambers — each hiding twisted secrets and fragments of a lost past.

Raw, Violent Combat

Combat is fast, physical, and lethal.
Finishers allow you to execute enemies when caught off guard or weakened.

Puzzle Solving and Exploration

Solve environmental puzzles, uncover strange mechanisms, and investigate symbols and documents left behind by the cult and other survivors.
Progress through layered locations filled with traps, locked paths, and disturbing relics of rituals gone wrong.

Cinematic Storytelling

The story blends seamlessly into gameplay for a grounded, emotionally heavy experience.

✦ AI summary

Players praise Bleak Haven for its atmospheric storytelling, intense psychological horror, and impressive achievement as a solo-developed title, with many calling it a masterclass experience. However, common criticisms include excessive reading requirements that interrupt gameplay flow, convoluted narrative turns that lose clarity, and repetitive boss fights that lack mechanical depth beyond wall-trapping and basic swinging.

Do you like losing your inventory every level? Do you like enemies grabbing you from behind when you just walked past the same spot? Do you like re-equipping your weapon after EVERY cutscene including boss fights? Do you LOVE cutscenes to game play that make no sense? Do you like when you cannot remap the key binds? Do you like not having a map? Do you like guns that sound like airsoft rifles unless you hit something? How about the stupidest reason to go find a flower? If this sounds like fun this is the game for you. Is this game bad no not at all. I got it on sale and I have enjoyed my time, but I would not recommend others to get it. Now the good: Enemies are creepy, the jump scares are not expected, There is good in this game. For the price I would buy again but I would not tell you to purchase it if you want a polished game.

For a single person to make this ♥♥♥♥ yo this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bonkers! To give it to you stright its " we have resident evil village at home " same type of quest lore and gameplay. witterly the weakest link in the game is combat with the weapons. Its not bad tho I just say weak! this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ great and I love the energy and the lore to it is simple to read and good ♥♥♥♥.

The game reuses a lot of its maps, and the optimization isn't great, but it's at least playable. The visuals are good, and the gameplay is fun, but it's way too short, only around 3–4 hours. The story feels unfinished, with missing details and a few things that just don't make sense. It also needed a lot more testing before release, especially on both low-end PCs to improve optimization. ONLY WORTH IT IF ON LOW SALE

The game and story started out wonderfully. Really pulled me in to as what was coming next. Jumpscares got me alot. Then the story kept taking such strange turns it completely lost me. I felt like I was having to read an entire novel just to try and keep up with the story. I spent upward of 30% of my gameplay time reading. Then toward the end of the game we hit some big fights with ZERO mechanics involved besides trap strafing the boss against a wall and swinging. No dodging, bosses attacks also cannot be blocked. Just trap them and swing. It couldve been a great game but I wouldnt recommend. PS congrats on creating the whole game as a solo developer. Was awesome to read that multiple times in game :)
