Book Bound

Perfect for Steamdeck ✅️ Book Bound is a cozy , cute little game that doesn't require much effort but the charm lies in its simplicity. Starting with the most basic furniture and decorations, bigger, better and brighter additions for the shop are unlocked as you sell more books. Decorating the shop my own way has been lovely and I especially enjoyed bringing my little Sci Fi corner to life. The Halloween update for the game can be toggled on or off to the players preference but I enjoy the pumpkins everywhere and the creepy, grinning trees in the park . There are some NPCs to be found and they have stories to tell if you're interested to listen. There is a quick little button mashing mini game to advertise your store and attract some extra customers. You can write, design and publish your own book by purchasing the workstation which I loved to do. One thing i dislike is the dirt. Customers will randomly drop dirt on your floor, sometimes it just appears out of thin air. If dirt is present where a customer is standing, you can't talk to them until you've cleaned the dirt. I felt the game could've done without this, there is no reason to include it. It's just plain irritating. …

I really wanted to like this, but it is very glitchy and some of the game mechanics are just not fun to play. It takes several times to exit a menu, for example. It also makes everyone drop the books they couldn't buy at the end of the day, and there is no mechanic to make that easier as time goes on. You can't even tell what kind of book you are holding without going to a shelf first, so the books that are dropped off at the register are even more of a chore to put away.

I love reading, and I love the concept of this.. AND I REALLY wanted to like this... but it got boring fast. It felt really grindy... I love grindy games but this was annoying? ⇉ Basically setup shop, order books, put book on shelf then walk around advertising your shop. ⇢ You also have to clean up after the customers.... they leave a LOT of random garbage on the ground (didnt really look to see if there was a garbage can but not sure if it would have helped lol) ⇢ Customers constantly drop books on the ground ⇢ You can't control when you close the shop... you're kinda stuck once you Open ⇢I wish the book shelves had more than 4 spaces for books. ⇢ more genres needed Feels really unfinished, even though its oficially been out for 3 months... I was looking at the previous patches.. not many changes. I feel like it'll be a while before theres any gameplay changes

Very cozy and entertaining! I typically wear on games quickly and this game kept me entertained for 5 hours straight without issue. IMO worth the $7 USD it's asking for normally, and well worth it for a few bucks on sale. Perfect to escape the chaos of an airport or doctors office for a few hours, great for handheld gaming!

Played the demo, its a cute game, simplistic and a little tedious but its got cute storylines and a plot in the background that slips to the back of your mind until the murdered ghost in a book flies in to remind you to do things you either already know or to tell you to be more proactive, I love this game and its fun unlocking furniture and customising and "publiishing books" that you can sell
