The game works correctly only at 60 Hz. The bug was reported a year ago, yet there's still no fix. It's a fun game, but it's currently unplayable, so I asked Valve for a refund. Fix your damn game because the price you're asking for it is absurdly high.1 found this helpful
Love Boulderdash I have the 30th Anniversary edition also. That version has more graphic options than this one and runs smoother on old hardware (Intel HD4000). This 40th Anniversary edition has absolutely no graphics options at all. That being said, it shouldn't be a demanding game graphically anyway. I can't get a good framerate which makes it less smooth when playing - eye strain material. I'll stick to the 30th anniversary which is much smoother and easy on the eye for me. I still recommend this game (though it is a bit pricey), it's a fantastic game, always has been. Just dont get it if you have low end hardware - even though its Boulderdash! perhaps its poorly optimised. Dev's, at least add some graphic settings for that price !?!!?!?? Refunded.
Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary: 40 Years of Pure, Unadulterated Fun! If you want to understand the roots of gaming while playing a title that feels incredibly fresh, this is it. Boulder Dash 40th Anniversary isn’t just a remaster; it’s the ultimate love letter to Rockford and the millions of players who grew up dodging falling rocks and hunting for diamonds. Insane Amount of Content: With over 320 levels, including 80 remastered classics and 240 brand-new caves, the value here is unbeatable. You can literally play through the entire history of the franchise in one package. Visual Versatility: I love that you can swap between modern HD graphics and authentic 8-bit styles (C64, ZX Spectrum, etc.). It’s the perfect way to satisfy both nostalgia and modern tastes. Legendary New Content: The inclusion of the "Liepa World"—20 mind-bending levels from original creator Peter Liepa—is a masterstroke. It’s challenging, clever, and reminds you why this game became a legend. Infinite Replayability: The level editor is intuitive and powerful. Being able to build your own deathtraps and play community creations means you’ll never truly "finish" the game. The Huelsbeck Touch: The sound…
I love the classic Boulder Dash series and also its successors. Glad that the franchise still exists. There are plenty of new levels and some are really challenging. This new version also has an editor and the ability to play community levels. Great! It's nice that this time also all classic levels are included. I bought the game also on Switch, where I play most of the time. The editor could be improved, tough.
Boulder Dash III was my first ever computer game. I was loading it from a cassette tape connected to my ZX Spectrum. Many thanks to the developers for allowing me to relive those memories and enjoy playing this timeless classic. BDI, BDII, BDIII games are gold. However the part with modern interpretation lacks that atmosphere, that sound, that visual style, it's more like a telephone arcade. But it does not decrease the value of this release.
Boilder Dash 2 cave M seems to be broken. Stones do not fall through the water when you undermine earth beneath it. If you watch original level walkthrough, they must drop. Otherwise it is impossible to complete this cave.
