Time passes on Runersia in seasons. Each season consists of an Organization Phase and Attack Phase. During the Organization Phase, knights and monsters of various classes and skills are organized into troops in preparation for upcoming battles. During the Attack Phase, turn-based troop battles take place on a map made up of hexagonal spaces. Make use of unit skills, elements, enclosure effects, terrain advantages, and other battle tactics to lead your side to victory! All nations, knights, and monsters in the game will continue to battle and grow as you do. The game is also packed with other ways to grow your armies such as classes, equipment, and various items.

Runersia - a continent blessed with mana showers from times of old. Five Mana Stones discovered long ago have been embedded into special armor called Brigandines, each one representing the ideology of the nation possessing it. These have come to be known as the Brigandine of Justice, Sanctity, Freedom, Glory, and Ego. The time now is Runersia 781, and a war looms on the horizon for five nations and a small tribe with incompatible ideologies. Six rulers and their rune knights will throw themselves into the conflict, each with their own hopes and expectations. Once the land has been unified under a single banner, memories from The Legend of Runersia will be reclaimed and the truth of what happened here on Runersia shall be revealed.

Enemy nations aim to conquer the continent as well and will attack your bases to do so. I’m happy to say that Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia nearly achieves perfection in carrying on the legacy of the original. RUNERSIA: A NEW WORLD TO CONQUER Runersia is a world that will remind any returning player of the series of Forsena, even if there are several important differences that set them apart. The experience begins with a selection of six nations that can be selected, each with a story uniquely its own with a separate overarching plot that leads toward the endgame and the final boss fight. Five factions have brigandines, artifacts imbued with mighty power from the Rune God, while the sixth does not and absolutely refuses to acknowledge the others’ perceived superiority. Enter the Gustavan Empire, the first of these that I played. They were not only on-brand for my tastes but also immediately reminded me of Norgard, my favorite from Forsena. They certainly were not a disappointment, but Emperor Tim had some particularly large shoes to fill following Vaynard of Norgard, and he couldn’t quite accomplish it even though he was a strong character that earned my respect after only a few hours. Played for 35 hours on Switch then found out the Steam version has "Creative Mode" so I bought the game again. Must really have enjoyed it then
ya its a good game, for those that like story, kingdom, building, only cleared with one kingdom, might do more.
Great Game! Brings back memories of the old days.
Amazing re-imagining of the original. Plays VERY much like the original but with a different story line and better graphics. 10 out of 10.
