Broken Tape is a narrative-driven first person walking simulator with the elements of psychological horror, where you take the role of a test subject in a big organization created to find, study and deal with anomalies. You were tasked with a job to locate and eliminate anomalies in a series of old unknown tapes, containing more inside of them than meets an eye.
Forget your origin. Forget everything you knew before this day. You have a job. You have a task. A duty to humanity that must be fulfilled.
Office - What a truly delightful dream - to wander around a giant, seemingly infinite work spaces. It's like the work never ends! Hotel - These identical halls last for miles and miles... Good luck finding your room. Warehouse - A true worker's nightmare. Rows and rows of boxes, shelves and boxes again. Who only knows where your package is... Stairway - Floor, one more floor, yet another floor. How many is left? You should've just wait for an elevator! Firewatch - Seems peaceful. At first. Sit down, relax, make yourself a cup of tea, but don't forget to watch out for those fires! \

So far, I've played for like an hour and I honestly gotta say that this game is very good and underrated. Like it's legit really fascinating. The concept of it is also interesting and even the atmosphere of the videotapes is captured perfectly. Spooky and fun is pretty much how I can sum it up. 9/10 Worth the price. A very fun and unique anomaly game! It is a nice change from the other similar games I've played. Instead of memorizing a single room or area then throwing both subtle and obvious anomalies at you. This game wants you to report findings that don't belong or are unusual. Sounds similar however the way this developer tweaked it is refreshing. There are VHS tapes, from 5 different locations, that you must enter and find any anomalies within them. It's also fun to try and interact with the anomalies, even if it means dying more often than necessary. I also love how they detail each anomaly. After you find three variants of the same anomaly is will give you the background of each anomaly, totaling over 70. Reminds me a lot of SCP's lore for each anomaly they have captured and studied. Only thing I had issues with is the movement of the character. It wasn't bad enough for me to quit playing but the head bob does get a little nauseating. Maybe if they could give a option to turn that off. Otherwise I highly recommend this game.2 found this helpful
an interesting anomaly game about finding different anomalies inside several different VHS tapes. the devs took a good bit of time regarding a lot of the small details too, as many of the anomalies physical counterparts are actual existing things in real life. overall i give the game about a good8.5/10 very enjoyable and cant wait for the fishing update!2 found this helpful
The anomalies aren't that hard in that one. Mostly they are really easy to find. ..the hard part is sometimes staying alive and getting all the achievements! Good and easy game to start with anomaly games, a lot of lore to find out and some strange ideas :)1 found this helpful
