Case Files: Internal Affairs

Once again, we got a new case to investigate. This time, as the title suggests, it is an internal affair. Two officers were killed, and you have to interview their spouses and close friends, compare the evidence, and call out those who lie. However, with this limitation, the game is still very enjoyable. You'll find yourself suspecting everyone of them until you find the real culprit. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3730189837 After each interview, you'll be presented with a major question, and you have to answer it correctly for the investigation to go right and to earn the achievement, which is based on your answers and whether you get them all right. The section where you spot the contradiction was a little bit difficult, and I had to guess a couple of times. You have to keep rewinding the previous videos and read the documents carefully. How good are you at identifying lies? Your goal is to find lies and mistruths within video interviews. Ultimately, your task is to find who murdered two cops. Evidence is provided for the murders and player needs to review the interviews to make a deduction. There are call logs, psych evaluation, and other documents. After watching the recorded interview, you are asked a question or to find evidence that contradicts what the participant claimed. [h1] Pros: [/h1] - No filler scenes and each interview takes a deeper look into the mindset of each participant and possible motives for murdering the cop. - Contradiction part was a good way to test player's ability to find holes in the interviewer's testimony. - Your decisions affect the outcome of the case. You do not need to be perfect to build a case against the murderer. Like the other Case Files game I played (Behind Closed Doors) the story is surprisingly strong. It's complex enough to sustain its mystery, and the acting is good enough to carry it - especially for such an obviously low-budget game. It is, however, quite short, quite linear, and there are only a few parts where you need to go through call records and profiles to find contradictions. Still, I'm happy to support the dev because all the ingredients of a genuinely great fmv game are there. If they ever decide to do something bigger, more interviews, more branching paths, more files to dig through, and the same quality of acting and writing, then I'll be the first to buy it.

More of the same, which is good. I've completed all 3 games and I'll play the next one once/if they release it. Just a couple recommendations in case they're reading this review. The notebook should have more pages, one page is not enough for taking notes and after beating the game, a chapter selection would be great to be able to see all the videos without having to replay the whole game, even with the option to skip media, if I want to see what would have happened if I'd chosen another option on the later videos, it takes a while to get there. Just some minor complaints. The games are great, keep up the good work and I hope you release more games!

Another solid entry to the Case Files series. Perhaps even the best out of all of them. The mystery is larger in magnitude than in the previous entries, without spoiling too much. You will be distracted and surprised many times throughout the investigation. I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys solving an interactive mystery. The acting is solid from everyone, and there is no filler in this story. Just remember that your choices matter, so be very thorough with your investigation. Until next time, Detective Ruiz.
