[h1] For 2009 you would expect Crysis. Caster feels pretty much opposite to Crysis. Terrible and unfinished to be honest. But game have some cult following and despite being super lackluster, gameplay is done right. Overall idea is a bit like Mega Man in 3D with multiple powers, some affecting the environment, that is empty map, but you can affect terrain and navigate super fast. Considering it's pretty bad, it have some redeeming qualities which can be experienced by playing it. So yeah, worst but worth checking out at the same time. [/h1]7 found this helpful

A hidden gem of a lost era. Rough around the ages and feels like a university project, but what it lacks, it makes up for in ambition. I hope this kind of terraforming returns.1 found this helpful
Caster is one of the worst games I've played in a long time. I got it on sale forever ago for pennies so to see it priced at £8.50 is honestly shocking given that it appears to be a first project with little work put into it. Across dozens of blank landscapes there are generally the two objectives of shoot stuff and collect stuff. Fundamentally, that is the premise of a lot of games, if you're being disingenuously reductionist. What Caster lacks by comparison is almost an entire story, graphic or sound design, and apparently any QA testing as I gave up on the borderline impossible task of keeping the ship afloat in Acid Meadow following a level where I had to push a ball into acid with no real means to move the ball other than determination. I came in with low expectations and Caster still did not meet them. Again, seeing the game at its current price and its rating artificially improved by a bunch of meme reviews, please do not be fooled into making this purchase.
this is a game for people who drink beer and get drunk or for people who smoke weed and get high
Really fun, great soundtrack, but short and abandoned. Absolutely worth a play when it's on sale!
