About Colonies

It's the year 2150 and thanks to advancement in science and engineering, mankind established colonies throughout the solar system and beyond.

In Colonies, you take control of a planetary base. Explore strange planets and discover important resources that your industry needs to ensure your colony prospers.

Build up your industry and exploit the planet’s resources.
Your enemy will not sit idly by while you expand your base. They will make every attempt to stop you. For this, you will have to deploy a powerful army with tanks, mechs, and defensive towers.

Research other areas of technology and equip your mechs with a variety of different weapons available in your arsenal.

Will you harvest and export enough resources to fulfill your mission goal in an economical way, or will you make things simple and attack and destroy your enemy right away?

It’s up to you, Commander. Your colony is relying on you.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's promising concept, affordable price, and visual design, particularly the day-night cycle effects. However, they consistently request critical features like a save function (the most repeated complaint), building deconstruction, unit repair/upgrade options, and better balance in early-game difficulty and resource placement, while some find the pacing slow and combat somewhat tedious without these quality-of-life improvements.

i like the concept. its a cheap game so i dont expect it to be like starcraft. a tutorial ore small campaign would be nice its a bit unclear how to start up had to restart several times. its a pitty i cant save games since the process is very slow u are forced to keep playing. all tho its a bit of a beta i couldnt play far into game diddnt had much time. look foreword to upcoming patches. i feel like the mineral patches are kinda few but i havent expanded so much. i higly recommend a save game option.

NOT A BAD GAME, REALLY REALLY NEED A SAVE BUTTON, NOT FUN IF YOU HAVE TO KEEP STARTING OVER AND OVER AND OVER EVERY TIME YOU EXIT AND COME BACK TO GAME. FUN GAME,BUT STILL NEEDS SOME WORK.

This is a game with a lot of promise and could be a top tier indie RTS game. Even though I was taken in by the weaponized mechs and day and night features, it has plenty of features that would definitely improve gameplay and flow of combat. Currently the lack of building deconstruction and the inability to repair/upgrade vehicles makes managing your base and army a bit tedious. But I have to say the its a nice looking game at night time, your construction units headlights pop on and the buildings glow in a multitude of colors. Combat consist of rather lengthy slug fest, this is something I don't mind, allowing units to hold the line while you build reinforcements. It's currently at a low price and it has a nice concept which is more than what i could ask for, so I'm looking forward to see what other additions are coming in the future.

A good game, as others have mentioned a save function would be great. I will be watching with interest to see where this game goes on future releases. A bit slow paced to start and the enemy seems way to established at the start, maybe a little balancing? The ability to scrap units and replace with stronger ones as you research would also be handy, I found myself sending weaker units on attack runs to reduce my numbers was more effective than building more housing. I give it a solid 5/10 and will see where to on future updates.
