Company of Heroes - Legacy Edition

Company of Heroes that uses the now-defunct Gamespy network and has LAN play capability. It also doesn't have the expansions automatically included, they come as separate entries in your Steam library. Content wise, they're both the same game. If you want to play over LAN, use this. Otherwise, just play the 'regular' Company of Heroes. It's updated for Steamworks and includes all expansions. I'll rate this up because you get both editions when you buy one, and this one keeps the older LAN functionality (which some people still do parties as well as it's important for game preservation). Glad they kept it around instead of just yanking it all out like many other games do.

After two and a half hours and around the fifth mission, I’m calling it quits. I had to force myself to play it and just couldn't get immersed. That 20-year gap in game design really shows. Even though I would love to play through the American campaign starting from D-Day, I just can't bring myself to do it. If I had played it years ago, maybe it would be a different story. But for a first playthrough, I'll wait for the announced Definitive Edition and jump straight into the second game for now. I believe it'll be a much smoother and better experience there. Rating: 5/10
