About Concrete Jungle

✦ AI summary

Build a thriving city by strategically placing cards that trigger chain reactions with your residents, then clear blocks by meeting their demands to unlock bigger buildings and expand your deck. Battle against AI or friends in a puzzle-like city-planning duel where your past decisions become tomorrow's obstacles, all wrapped in gorgeous isometric visuals and fully voice-acted storytelling.

A city planning deck-building game!

A new take on the city-building genre that swaps micro-management for a more strategic and puzzle-oriented style of deck building.
You have a deck of selected cards, which you can use to place buildings. Each building will affect its surroundings in different ways. The aim of the game is to clear city blocks by gathering the required number of points from your residents, giving more room to build. As the city grows, bigger and better new buildings can be added to your deck!
As you get opportunities to hone and refine your deck, residents will demand more from you. You'll find yourself inadvertently creating zoning puzzles- playing against your own past planning decisions.

Alternatively, engage in competitive city planning against challenging AI or local players. Take it in turns to place buildings in the same city and battle over the affection of your citizens!

I didn't really have fun with this puzzle game. Felt like a bad tetris game and has very little to do with "city building".

Man this game rules! I wish I'd bought it years ago when i first saw it. Finally pulled the trigger and man, it is simply a wonderful deck builder.

Can you guys implement a feature where all the characters stfu and I don't have to listen to all this awful dialogue? hire a writer, every sentence is worthless and pointless. The gameplay is pretty good.

Not sure what's going on with this game. I have a column reconcile and my opponent goes from -3 to + 5 in the column out of no where. I'm guessing there's some sort of small print on their cards or something that is giving them the numbers, but I've ended the game in versus numerous times (after doing the math) only to have the score calculation turn out completely unexpected. This really needs a log of "this is why this column scored this way". Otherwise numbers fly by and I have no idea how with a greater score in a column I managed to lose. A game is neat, but it really does needs some better UI information to tell you what things do and how cards word. Example: a graphic will show a blue square to the left which means it benefits something to the left. Then when you place it you learn you can select where it benefits (not the blue square as indicated on the card). When decisions are so important moment to moment, you can't fumble the UI. This game fumbles the UI.
Achievement Hunting Rating 3/5
This is a strategy card game, not a city building simulation game. That said, I enjoyed the game and do recommend it. You will probably need a guide to strategize a plan to get all the achievements and there are some grindy challenges along the way. But the campaign will cover most of the rest naturally. If you are really focused you can 100% in about 25 hours.
