About Coonwood

✦ AI summary

Lead a squad of territorial raccoons or go solo as an alien survivor in this asymmetrical multiplayer showdown where teamwork and customizable combat abilities determine who controls Coonwood. Switch between multiple game modes—from defending your forest to hunting in mutation-filled zones—with a flexible skill system that lets you forge your own playstyle regardless of your role.

Raccoons?

Do you think raccoons are good? In Coonwood you will understand how much they do not like intruders!

Gameplay

In Coonwood, you will have to play as one of several raccoons or one alien. Playing as raccoons, you need to work together and deal with a common enemy. The gameplay of the alien is more difficult, because playing for him you have to escape alone from angry raccoons.

There are skill branches in the game, they do not depend on the role you play!
You can use the same abilities on both the raccoon and the alien. By learning new abilities, you can realize your personal style of combat or defense.

Game Modes

Coonwood has several game modes:
  • Crash - one player plays as an alien, and the others as raccoons. The purpose of this mode is simple, the alien must find a way to send a signal to be rescued. Raccoons must protect their territory and prevent the alien.
  • Hazard - in this mode, the alien ceases to be a victim and becomes a hunter. Raccoons need to stick together and not get caught by the alien.
  • The zone - Infested territory, everyone mutates, finds abilities and most importantly THERE ARE NO ALLIANCE!

Playing style

With role-neutral abilities, you can play any style you want. Be an assassin, or attack from the shadows with long-range attacks, run faster than the wind and jump higher than the trees, the decision is yours!

Actually awful. Constantly phasing through the map, no real clue as to what the objective is. In one game I played, the alien healed faster than our damage did to him. We had to just sit still and attack him for about 3 minutes straight to finally kill. Ridiculous game, terrible name.

Coonwood is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience developed and published by SoloQ that blends survival mechanics, competitive teamwork, and an unusual science fiction premise into something that feels distinct from many traditional entries in the genre. Rather than focusing on familiar horror formulas involving haunted locations or supernatural killers, the game creates conflict through an unlikely battle between a stranded alien and territorial raccoons. The strange concept immediately gives Coonwood its own identity, creating a multiplayer experience built around adaptation, strategy, and unpredictable encounters. The setup begins with an extraterrestrial survivor crashing onto an unfamiliar planet and attempting to stay alive long enough to escape. Unfortunately, survival becomes significantly more difficult when local wildlife refuses to welcome the unexpected visitor. Players either take control of the alien trying to signal for rescue or join the raccoon side determined to prevent that escape from happening. The premise sounds intentionally absurd at first, but the unusual foundation helps create memorable gameplay situations that stand apart from more conventional …

'Coonwood' presents a premise that struggles to find a cohesive identity, ultimately resulting in a fragmented and unpolished gameplay experience. While it attempts to blend elements of survival and action within its low-poly environments, the execution lacks the mechanical depth necessary to sustain interest. The world feels sparsely populated and repetitive, with environmental assets that often look generic and disconnected from one another. Without a clear narrative hook or a satisfying progression system, the initial curiosity of exploring its odd setting quickly gives way to a sense of aimlessness. Technically, the title suffers from significant performance issues and a lack of basic refinement. The controls are notably unresponsive, making simple navigation and combat feel like a chore rather than a challenge. Frequent bugs, ranging from clipping through the terrain to inconsistent hit detection, further detract from the immersion and suggest a premature release. Combined with an interface that is unintuitive and poorly scaled, these technical hurdles make the game difficult to recommend, even to enthusiasts of experimental indie projects.

Cool game, raccoon fall through ground and achievement bugged but I see a good game in the future if you keep working on it.
