Unique and interesting, underrated game. Definitely worth some quality time
Love it
Really tried to enjoy the game but between the bugs and horrible combat I couldn't even finish the main story. First bug kept me from going into fullscreen so I had to play it in windowed the whole time, second bug made the game crash every 15 minutes, at least the auto save was good. Combat is horrible and never worth it, the cost to repair your ship and replace your ammo is never covered by the loot you gain. Also, the enemy constantly shields your attacks and out maneuvers your ship since you cant steer your ship and only have simple commands on what to do (AI does all the moving for you). I had the most expensive battleship, 2 full eleveled piolets and 3 great shooters and still would get my ass handed to me since turrets and torpedoes only hit the enemy if their at a specific spot on your ship, but thats the issue; the enemy is either too far, behind you, or to your side, so most of your weapons are useless. Fun trading game bogged down by horrible decisions.
This game is fun and addictive. The simplicity of it is what kept me trying to play. As I kept playing I kept encountering bug after bug, game crashing every 45 minutes, missions not working properly, and not even able to put it into full screen mode. Looking into fixes I learned that this game was abandoned by the developers pretty much right at launch. There is no modding community or fan made fixes for this game. Buy it on sale for less than a dollar, and even than that is being generous. If any one has the skill set, knowledge and love for this game. Please take over and start a modding community. This game is in my opinion a raw gem that needs TLC to become polished and enjoyable.
Pro: Animations are simple and fun. Pro: The world feels interesting. Con: Game loop is overly simplistic and tedious. Con: Punished harshly for early mistakes: Intro allowed me to take (even hinted I should take) on a mission to buy and deliver Medicine with a fairly short required window before I could even see the star system. Problem: nowhere in the starting region even exports Medicine. I get a hefty penalty for canceling the Mission. Then the AI tells me they've already arranged a Mission for me, that I didn't need to take one on yet at all (then why did you have me go to the place to get missions and hint I should grab one?). Only upon getting to the next destination (a slow trip of watching circles and bars) did I discover you can buy things they aren't exporting, it's just more expensive and they likely don't have as many of them, but I expect it can be worth it if the Mission pays well. Con: Controls are poorly ported for PC. Con: When I tried to quit out, the game crashed so hard even Task Manager couldn't appear on top of it. No other method was getting it to close. I had to convince TM to move to another monitor so I could kill the program. No idea where or when I g…
