An awful 2.5D platformer. Atrocious load times for how simple this is, clunky and at times unresponsive controls (dodge frequently breaks and then requires an attack to fix), extremely tedious combat on anything higher than Normal, and completely broken Achievements. First things first, my apologies if you thought the game would tell you how to play. No, the player has to find out for themselves, why would we help you?! The controls I know are located at the bottom. There are 2 characters to choose from: Sam and Iren. Iren is more consistent in sword combat, but her skills use more energy and she is ultimately worse for anything beyond Normal. Sam is more inconsistent in sword combat, but has more efficient skill usage that is absolutely required for hordes of enemies and is the only practical pick. Why? On Hard or Nightmare, you will frequently run back and forth across the battle area to recharge energy (or jumping elsewhere if allowed and just waiting). You can easily stunlock one enemy alone (but only 1; sword attacks don't hit multiple enemies at once). But 3 or more together will completely stunlock you and quickly lead to death. Which makes sword combat USELESS at that poi…2 found this helpful
The game is not really worth any money, the combat is very poor and enemies can stunlock you if they ever hit you. The split screen hid a lot of the screen so you couldn't see below or above you at all, and on top of that the parkour sections were mainly just annoying and stupid. PS. If you are playing split screen the first player HAS TO activate the cutscenes, or the camera for them also focuses on the second player. There is no way this game was ever playtested, like seriously.
this game sucks
The loading screen is very slow and the enemy combat is terrible: the player simply cannot do anything.
Bought it for a buck, figured it can't really be that bad. There's a cutscene at the start that can't be skipped. I tried hitting start(?) on my controller. The dev has a blur applied to the background, so I can't see the options in the pause menu. The cutscene isn't that long. I get into the game and I'm liking it. Swinging my sword around, crushing stuff. You have 100hp but you have zero iframes. So, in the event that you're between an enemy and a wall or another wall, you're gonna die. Your regular combo is not fast enough, and your super moves are interruptable. Also! If you let two enemies get super close to each other, you're in for a bad time. You go to hit one, that one draws back, the other one hits you. Okay, fine, I just have to be careful. So I go a little further to the swinging axes. Their hitboxes don't really exist. I just walked through them and touched them 2-3 times. If you manage to get hit by the axes, it's an instakill. Sure, fine, that's on me, I go a little further. Another review mentions that if you die, you gotta go all the way back. Not even to the start of the first level. You gotta go back all the way to the first cutscene that you can't skip. Why …
