About Crash The Core

What separates Crash the Core from other deck builders is the variety of card types which include: Abilities, Summons, Gadgets, Weapons, and Consumables. For example, Summons can either attack to deal damage or defend you with their shield, Gadgets have a powerful and unique effect but they require energy and use durability. You can combine any of the card types however you like to create a unique build every time.

Customize Your Playstyle

The more missions you play the more Renown your agency will receive. You can use Renown to unlock new starter cards and unlock new specialties which you can use to create your own unique class. Don't take on your missions alone have a player join you in local coop mode and take on missions together but you can also play online with Steam's Remote Play feature! There is no disadvantage or advantage to playing with others so go ahead enjoy the co-op experience.

I am enjoying this game! And so far, I have NOT experienced bugs or a suboptimal interface. So I hope/guess that was solved with the patch from Oct '22, mucho kudos to the dev. To me that nullifies most of the negative reviews to date, though I do agree with some points made by Dr. Dial-A-Banshee. This is a roguelite deckbuilder and as such it is similar to Slay the Spire, but smaller and cheaper. + many nice cards (also some clear garbage) + 5 slots for summons and gadgets. + the extra weapon cards. + I can skip/remove cards for free (maybe I missed this from the tutorial). - some repetition in enemies/encounters (too few?) Definitely recommended. On sale = nobrainer EDIT: i had lots of fun, but finishing the game left me underwhelmed

I had a fun 80 minute run. For the 5, I get to try and solve a set of interesting card mechanics, a dynamic battle system with cool synergies, and get lost in the music, sounds, and card art. If you're thinking about it, just go for it. This game is worth more than a cup of coffee, (but costs less, can you believe it? Starbucks out here selling 8 dollar drinks.)

This just isn't it, you can get a tighter experience with a cleaner UI and game feel with something else - if you want the sci-fi aesthetic than Griftlands has you covered (and is just a solid entry into the card-battler, deckbuilding, rogue-lite category anyways) and if you want something that has a similar vibe (block UI elements, more restrained combos, slower play patern, etc.) with more polish then Vault of the Void should do fine.
