You're the prototype for a brand new appliance, a 3d printer that can make ANYTHING. The only problem? You'd rather be free. CreatorCrate is an intense action platformer full of electrified death traps, terrifying murderbots, and passenger pigeons.
FAST, INTENSE, AND CHALLENGING
Fight to stay alive while everything around you is on fire, exploding, or shooting lasers. Dangle by your arm over deadly drops. Climb just ahead of fizzing pools of acid. Take it one area at a time with checkpoints or crank up the challenge with permadeath mode. Procedural generation keeps the action fresh each time so you can get blown up and try again!
MORE THAN RUN AND SHOOT
You improvise and create! Think on your feet to outsmart complex systems of traps. Will you disable the security camera or avoid it by melting through the floor with acid? Will you dodge the hulking robot or throw a chair to lure it into a pit? Stab the humans, hide from them, or carry them around as your special pets. There's always another solution to every challenge.
GRABBY TOSSY CHAOS
With your grabby robot arm you throw people, block bullets with tables, swing from lamps, smash brooms into enemies, and devour anything not nailed down. Snatch everything you can to stay alive as you scramble over machine gun turrets and flaming furniture.
CREATE ANYTHING
It's great being an appliance that can make anything. For instance: what if you need lots of guns, but all you have lying around is a few humans? EASY! Just use that useless biological matter to print out some handy-dandy firearms. In need of repairs? Eat those guns and use their matter to patch yourself up! Lonely? JUST PRINT MORE HUMANS!
A BREATHTAKING CIRCULAR WORLD
Experience the wonder of a hard sci-fi setting rarely seen in games: a massive spinning space station. Gravity shifts as you explore, from the freedom of low gravity acrobatics near the center to the terror of being brutally pulled into space at the outer edge. In Zero G, you float weightless, run on walls, and propel yourself with the recoil of firearms. You can never trust your expectations in this labyrinth of curved floors and devious traps.
EPILEPSY WARNING: screen effects, flashing lights, and large amounts of motion.
PLAYTIME: Varies greatly, depending on deaths and difficulty settings. 4-6 hours average for regular game + much more for challenge modes.
MOUSE + KEYBOARD PREFERRED: This game has a unique control scheme, and most players find the Mouse to be the most intuitive way to control the CreatorCrate's grabby robot arm. However, the game can be played start to finish with nothing but a Controller.

CreatorCrate has some humorous elements, such as being able to clone the bodies of the scientists you kill and having them get up and walk around like mindless zombies (the sound they make is pretty hilarious and creepy at the same time). Also, the banter between the scientists and the character as they try to persuade you to get into certain boxes placed around the level is amusing. The graphics and sound are passable and get the job done, but sadly, the gameplay is where the game loses most of its points. Although the game is tagged and described as an “Action Roguelike”, the only actual roguelike element seems to be the procedurally generated world, so roguelike lovers should keep this in mind. CreatorCrate is a physics-based platformer more than anything else. If that is your jam, then you could still do a lot better than this game. This game really makes you FEEL like an agile matter-flinging robot that's got beef with humanity.
Bad game because when I click on new game it shows downloading the game and it keeps downloading and I can't play
a very creative, original, puzzley, physicsy, roguelite platformer. with lots of action and high speed. and a lot of emergent gameplay. i'm not aware of anything else out there that's anything like it. if you care about any of those things, you should definitely play this game!
Weirdly compelling in a way it has no right to be.
Few games today dare to put players in the role of villains. A great example of this is Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital's "reverse horror" indie adventure game Carrion from 2020, in which we played as an amorphous monster with tentacles, and the goal was to eat as many people as possible to evolve and escape from a research facility run by humans. And while Carrion is a reversal of body horror movies like Carpenter’s The Thing, CreatorCrate is deliberately even more silly and doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s a daring indie game made by a single person, who worked on it for seven years (her first major game after many smaller game projects). It takes place in a futuristic setting, featuring simplistic graphics and some crazy innovative ideas based around controlling a cute robot using a keyboard, with an emphasis on his robot arm which you control using a mouse in circular 360 motion. It will probably fall under the radar for many, but if you think Spelunky is a 21st century masterpiece, you must try this game.
