Please, just swear to me that by any circumstance you never gonna play it. Gameplay took about 15 minutes to complete and the farther you go it gets worse...
22 found this helpful
There is something definitely up with the positive reviews of this game. They are all very broad and generalized in scope and don't really mention anything specific. The game is a bare bones Contra clone and it's not a good one. The levels are really long, the boss fights are boring and the music is bad. The game feels very unfinished, even for 79 cents. Theres no game over screen either- just get kicked back to the title screen. The "C" in Crushborgs is actually the Contra C but tinted blue as well so not a good impression either.7 found this helpful
Positive review bombs- but this game feels like it was designed by an AI. There were portions were I was jumping up floating platforms, with no enemies, for 15 uninterrupted seconds, with no visual reason or concept. One level has you going DOWN a vertical scrolling section, but you can see why that's a bad idea when you can take your hits just down-jumping every obstacle in a matter of seconds. It's a game designed with zero philosophy, and like the exit in these levels, it's a big red box suggesting the only way out. This isn't a finished game, it's a slap in the face, and it's not worth any money. Also, using the Contra C while also heavily borrowing the aesthetics could confused consumers on if this were a Konami product, so that is copyright infringement imo.4 found this helpful
Contra fan game, It plays kind of like Contra 7, (you know that weird asian bootleg copy of contra). The game is rather easy and short, can be won in 15 minutes. (The game really needs a hard mode, with faster bullets, enemies, and more tanky bosses) My playtime was an hour to finish it twice, (with both characters) In the options menu, u can decrease your lives, hit points, or change the music styles, This game plays like the developers 1st or 2nd game, so i don't want to be to harsh. The game is not good, but its not completely terrible either. It plays just like every other contra fan game, and that is very mediocre. But i cant complain because i brought it for $1. I would only really recommend it for die-hard contra fans, who have already played there fair share of contra fan games and still want more. If u want to know what your in for; search and download a few contra fan games, or youtube them.
A short and neat homage to original Contra games. Art and music are decent, controls are good. My only complain is that this game is really short but considering its price tag it's not a big deal.
It's a fun contra clone run n' gun game, very challenging with 3 lives and 3 life points, just beat it couple of times with both of those robot troopers, achievements in the game would be nice if you devs had the time to put it years ago, that's all i have to say about crushborgs.
