About Cursed Halls

Cursed Halls is an unforgiving stealth horror game that takes you to dark, cursed locations where survival is your only goal. Explore an abandoned school, a desolate hospital, and a haunted prison, each with unique demons stalking your every move. Essential items needed to unlock exits and escape are randomized in each playthrough, ensuring no two runs are the same. But be warned: death is permanent, and every mistake brings you closer to a grisly fate. With its tense atmosphere, randomized object placement, and permadeath mechanics, Cursed Halls will test your wit and courage. Can you survive the horrors and uncover the secrets of these cursed halls?
The gameplay of Cursed Halls blends stealth with heart-pounding escapes, creating a constant tension that keeps you on edge. To evade the demons hunting you, you’ll need to strategically use throwable objects to create distractions and safely navigate the cursed environments. You can take refuge in ventilation ducts that connect rooms, lockers, or hide under tables and inside cabinets to stay out of sight. If all else fails, your only option is to break their line of sight and lose them in the labyrinthine layouts. Each level includes maps that reveal the layout and mark the locations of essential items, such as the flashlight, to aid your survival. To heighten the stakes, traps scattered throughout the levels demand constant vigilance and quick reactions, making every step a dangerous gamble.

In Cursed Halls, you’ll explore three chilling locations, each with its own unique horrors and a demon lurking within. Navigate the eerie corridors of an abandoned school, where echoes of a dark past fill the air; the desolate wards of a ruined hospital, steeped in unspeakable secrets; and the oppressive cells of a haunted prison, where the despair of the condemned still lingers. Each environment is meticulously crafted to immerse you in dread, with decaying walls, ominous shadows, and the faint echoes of unseen terrors drawing you deeper into the cursed world. These settings are not mere backdrops—they are integral to the fear, tension, and survival that define every moment of your journey.
The AI in Cursed Halls is relentless, always lurking near the player to maintain a constant atmosphere of tension and dread. No two playthroughs are the same, as every key item is randomly placed in different locations, ensuring that you can never rely on past strategies. Adding to the challenge, your inventory is limited to just 8 items, forcing you to make critical decisions about what to keep and what to discard. Every choice matters, especially as you plan your escape route—each exit requires different items to unlock, making inventory management a key element of survival. Stay sharp, adapt quickly, and be ready for anything.

I found this game to be a very frustrating experience. It's one of those indie horror games where you are constantly running and hiding from a monster that you cannot kill and there's no way to defend yourself. One major problem is that the monster somehow knows where you are at all times and constantly appears right around the corner, even when you just moved to another floor. You also cannot manually save. This is more of a rogue like experience where you go on runs and must start all over when the monster catches and kills you. The monster is also WAY too fast and will most assuredly catch and kill you repeatedly. The graphics for this game are outdated, dark, and blurry with too much of a bloom haze effect in my opinion, I also experienced constant frame rate drops with an RTX4080 in 4k resolution no matter what I changed in the settings. I also was unable to disable HDR for some reason. There are also no animations for opening bags and such. You just press a key to search. As far as content, there are three levels with levels two and three being locked until you successfully escape from the previous level. To access the third and final level, you must escape from the second …

Hi dev team! Gracias por este juego! I like playing horror game especially with some mechanic (not just a walking sim). I really appreciate with this AI for the ghost in this game. It's really challenging!!! because when you only take a peek in the hall it will chase you! But finally I figuring how to escape from it after I remembering the map. Absolutely fun to play! I hope there's any update for the future especially the ghost and the map.

Cursed Halls is an indie game that stands out for its immersive experience and challenging gameplay. Set in an abandoned school, players must survive a relentless demon while collecting essential items to escape. The dark, tense atmosphere keeps players on edge, and it’s clear that a lot of effort has gone into its development, especially in the survival mechanics and permadeath system. Despite its challenge, the replayability is one of the game's strongest aspects, making each playthrough feel unique.

I really like this style of game and I think Cursed Halls might be the best in it's class in every category outside of the lack of co-op. The graphics and art style are top notch. The locomotion feels smooth and responsive. The sound design is epic and the female demons have the most chilling wail imaginable. Each map adds a new challenge to manage which gives a nice sense of progression. The lean mechanic is well implemented and actually useful. The AI is pretty aggressive and doesn't let you get too comfortable. Using distractions like alarm clocks to lure the monster away adds a nice layer of strategy. This is a tough game and that might be exacerbated by the bear traps that are introduced in the second level. At first I hated them but I have grown to appreciate what they add to the game. That being said I personally think they could use a tweak or three. For starters the stun time on them is far far too long. I think it could use a reduction by upwards of 60-80%. I have mixed feelings about the traps resetting and how quickly they do so. Finally some of the traps are absolutely diabolically placed in the middle of narrow paths. Stepping into a trap should be a punishment for l…
