Cutish

Cutish is a puzzle adventure where the goal is to escape Cutish Island, a place where your character is stranded after a plane crash. The island did serve a secretive purpose and I learned what that was while exploring and solving the puzzles needed to open up various locations and gather items needed for the escape. The puzzles were varied and interesting to me. Progress was a little bit linear, but not absolutely so. Some clues are stored in inventory (along with needed items to progress the game) but some are not and you have to note those clues (I kept a journal using notepad). It is necessary to poke into everything and look around everything as small scrapes of paper clues or other little signs can be anywhere, under anything. As with Myst, the island itself is not populated other than with some benign wildlife. Movement is by directional keys, not point and click and was generally smooth. There were a few bugs, such as a sliding decoder that did not always want to slide. I also wandered off an elevator onto a lava pit and got stuck. This game crashed almost at the very end of the game. I contacted tech support of the developers of the game and no response. I contacted Steam for a refund, they would not comply. Very dissapointed

Great Mental Floss

Played the latest version, which apparently has more puzzles. This one was challenging--I don't ever want to solve the red/green rooftop garden puzzle ever again!! However, I thoroughly enjoyed this game, frustrating as it was at times. Well done game. My advice to new players--don't give up! Eventually you will get there!

Overall I enjoyed the game,found it challenging at times. there were a few instances however where I was totally clueless and would never have gotten through without a little help.

I love myst-style games and Cutish is one of those games that scratches my itch for myst-style games. The game is quite large for a game made by one developer, both in map/world size and time to complete. It took me almost 15 hours to complete the game. The island does not appear large at first but there are many doorways that lead to inner building and underground caverns and corridors, altogether it is a large map size. You will find plenty of puzzles in the game to enjoy. There are some nice references to myst in this game. Obviously the author was inspired by games from Cyan and this game shows that.
