Players are divided on Cyborg Arena. Many criticize it as an asset flip with minimal original content, plagiarized assets, and a history of low-quality releases from the developer, while others defend it as a legitimate attempt with a large map and more depth than lazy dismissals suggest. Common complaints include broken vehicle controls, incoherent design, and achievement glitches that require tedious workarounds or downgrading the game to function properly.
Cyborg Arena, developed and published by Devdan Games, is a budget first-person shooter that blends open-environment traversal with wave-based arena combat in a post-apocalyptic setting dominated by hostile machines. The premise is straightforward: humanity has fallen, cyborg forces control the wasteland, and you are among the last remaining soldiers fighting for survival. While the narrative framework is minimal, it provides enough context to justify the constant firefights and scavenging that define the experience. The game is divided primarily between an adventure mode and arena-based combat scenarios. In the adventure portion, players traverse wide desert landscapes in a vehicle, typically a dune buggy or armored transport, navigating between hostile zones and objectives. The open terrain gives a sense of scale, but it can also feel sparse, with long stretches of sand punctuated by cyborg outposts or defensive lines. The addition of vehicles adds mobility and a layer of variety to gameplay, yet driving mechanics can feel stiff or imprecise at times. Exploration revolves around pushing through enemy barricades, gathering weapons, and surviving waves long enough to progress to t…3 found this helpful

Warning: Asset Flip!
Cyborg Arena is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unreal Engine asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. It's important to also note the "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. This asset flip is a basic Unreal Engine copy + paste arena shooter (but you can drive a car, so the developer ripped off that bit too). The developer has a prior history of Unreal Engine asset flips of deplorably low quality, desperately trying to get your money for the work of others... the developer always claims credit for all the assets they used, as if they made them themselves. You can see how such intellectual and moral bankruptcy results in such trashware games. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The cont…3 found this helpful
dropping a review to counter all of the angry people complaining about the entire game being an asset flip when it's just a single bonus level used to promote the game or something. also from the store description the dev themselves list a lot of red flags for asset flip unity engine games "high jumps, invulnerability, unlimited ammo, high speed" if you have played a handful of these asset flip games made in unity they almost always feature these specific powerups dropping in abundance. reading more carefully these things only appear in arena mode which I haven't even tried yet. I was unable to reach the extraction point but I found the experience to be much more than "lazy" "terrible". sure none of it is really coherent but the map is really big! sure the vehicle is impossible to turn at speed but the physics are pretty fun and running over cyborgs is pretty good! yeah the game starts running at 10fps because its just a giant map and you didn't bother killing most of the cyborgs so they are all active and trying to path around or make decisions several km away from your current position but what other game can say it has this big of a level in UE3 and it really shows the ambitio…3 found this helpful

There was no directive, I didn't know what to do.
Many people say that the most uninspired indie games are typically made with Unity, but I personally get much more cautious when I see the Unreal Engine splash screen at the beginning, and this game is one of the main reasons why. In the first 2 minutes, you'll learn that rocks aren't rocks at all, and that you can only steer your car right (unless you stop). After that, it only gets worse.
