DanCop - Daniela on Duty is a puzzle game with a retro aesthetic that divides players, with some finding conceptual interest in its premise but others finding the gameplay either too simplistic or poorly balanced. The main criticisms center on its uninspired visual execution, combining low-poly models with pixel textures and an excessive CRT filter that detracts rather than enhances the experience, along with gameplay that struggles to maintain engagement despite its puzzle-focused mechanics.

"DanCop - Daniela on Duty" is a somewhat poorly concieved (and equally poorly recieved) puzzle game that looks like it should be some kind of retro shooter, but isn't. Instead you just move left and right with careful timing to avoid hostile NPCs and sometimes run into an arrow that gives you some vertical movement. This rather poor and uninteresting mobile app tier game concept is married to some godawful pixel textured low poly assets and a frankly hideous CRT filter slapped on top to try, I don't know, distract from the bad graphics by making the bad graphics worse. No wonder this was a flop. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" slathered over low poly models, instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating contemporary 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Minecraft and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. It's a nice gesture for the game to…1 found this helpful
There's some amount of conceptual interest to DanCop, but the gameplay simultaneously feels too simple and too difficult to really hook me in.
