Dark Box

Nice set of puzzles. Two really stumped me and I had to look up help. The later levels feel a bit short. I wish there were more puzzles. That said, I had a great time playing it.

A pretty basic box-pushing game. The mechanics are very simple; you need to push blocks to the marked spot. Luckily, the game allows you to undo if you make a wrong move. The game keeps things interesting and difficult by adding different types of blocks. First you start with basic blocks, then you get ice blocks that slide until they hit a wall, and other surprises. It doesn’t go crazy because other half of the game simply combines mechanics. The unique thing is that everything takes on a single map. The game is divided into six chapters that are blocked by doors. Once you solve a required number of puzzles, the door unlocks and lets you enter a new chapter. A chapter has different number of puzzles, and you don’t have to finish them all. Since the map is open, you can play puzzles in any order you want. The presentation is not exciting because a chapter is a simple straight road with puzzles on each side. Also, the graphics are the same across all chapters. There are bits of story found on stones, but it doesn’t pull you in.
