I really liked the first act. Can't wait to see how it evolves and impresses us. The artwork is amazing and feels like whoever made it was passionate, which is always a strong point. The story starts us off in a confusing way, but quickly falls back on its legs, which honestly feels fair considering the developers behind it are still finding their marks. There were a few issues I feel would be good to mention, but those are just my two cents. Visual novels are great, but Dark Light doesn't feel like one. We get to move the character around and seemingly navigate, but there really isn't much to do past proceeding from point A to point B. That's a shame. Some parts try to include gameplay, like the boat ride through the Styxx, but it comes off as die and retry, which isn't generally appreciated. Lore-bombing is also never a good idea, especially when the present characters are already aware of the facts and just stating them for the player to read. While the artwork is beautiful and does the job perfectly, some of the pixel art from the earlier segments is filled with beginner mistakes or fails to blend in. I'm going to be honest with my review, the experience is unique. I love the story and the art is great, everything felt like it had some sort of life but in a lot of areas there was not a lot of it. Places were pretty much empty and a lot of the game shows whats going to happen later, like being able to see the people you meet have levels hinting for later leveling mechanic. There could have been some good plot for getting the papers or more to the destination to the "underworld". My biggest downs to this game that nearly gave it a Not recommended is due to the sheer quality of animations and cut scenes its honestly not good and Isn't close to being good, it seems sloppily inserted and feels disconnected from the game, like the zooms and the just blatant pasting of a image into it without any detail into it. If there was more life to empty parts of the game like the streets or the courtyard and touched up on some of the cut scenes this is a good game coming cause the upsides are promising, like the art and the story is good and unique and the characters were great. There is the good and the bad to the game, none the less its still worth the good 90 minute investment, and the future…

What an interesting premise. The story set up in this first chapter is absolutely enthralling, very much looking forward to the continuation. I absolutely ADORED the artstyle, the visual style is strong, unique and very eye-catching and memorable. Cute, evocative and unique. One fun thing, I wasn't expecting the music to be this good, but it really stood out positively, very nice. The first chapter has such a strong build up, I really wish to see how the story continues.

After I was showed my room I went to sleep and in the dream I can't move up and down, so I'm stuck. At first I thought It's a common problem with controls, but on my pc It's the same. Thus, can't say anything much bout this game other that I like the comic narrative inserts.
