- Shipwrecked and AbandonedAfter your hopes are dashed and your fellow travelers decide to move on, just a few decide to stay and build a new life. There's a few supplies from the wreck to start off. so it's a good idea to start gathering essential resources to keep you going and survive.
- SurviveStart with a small camp, collect materials and build the basics, like shelter where you can prepare food, forage huts for herbs and berries, hunting lodges for food and start farming to sustain the people. Keep the health and contentment of your settlement up to establish a good starting point to expand.
- Build from NothingOnce you have enough resources, start to improve on what you have. Improve on your existing buildings or build better ones straight away. As word gets around, there will be more opportunity to trade for what you need.
- Dual Mode of PlayBuild, observe and direct from above or zoom down to ground level to inspect progress.
- Influence Developments as you goGuide the settlers to survive and grow from above. Tip the scales occasionally in their favor while they benefit from their efforts. This mechanism also allows the control of difficulty level and speed of advancement, so you can enjoy playing at whichever level you prefer.
- GrowBuild a trading post and trading dock to attract more passing trade. Build production units, like iron ore smelters, potteries and blacksmiths, increase production and build warehouses for storage. This sets you up for expansion and more control over the surrounding region, or you can decide just to build up your town where you are.
- Balance the EssentialsThe ratio of wells, herbs and berries, meat, bread and housing are important to keeping the people content and working well. Settlement production depends on how happy the people are, if you guide them well they will thrive and prosper.
- Fend Off Bandits Defend your settlers from danger while maintaining peace and order. As your settlement improves, it will become more attractive to local bandits. Set up defense towers and walls to protect the settlers and make the settlement more appealing to passers by.
- Explore and Expand - Claim Free AreasDiscover new areas, unlock resources, and expand your influence across the region if you like. As you establish your control over a vacant area through flags and outposts. Local bandit may well object as you enter their area of influence. Decide where and when you act to drive out threats from a particular area, making it safe for locals and allowing expansion.
- Monitor your Areas From AboveKeep an eye on regional movements from above. The areas you control are shown from on high by hexagonal blocks. You can see when invaders move into your area, changing to a warning hexagon. If you lose control, this is also indicated so you can deal with it as you prefer.

Love the game. Was a bit difficult to get started as its my first time playing this genre, but the game guide made it easier, as well as the quick start that really helped me get started. Its clear there various additional features to add to the game which will only improve upon it. It consists of great mechanics and gameplay aspects which I can't wait to explore.
