Play a sinister game of poker dice against blood-thirsty demon billionaires who’ve trapped you on their mega yacht in this rogue-like dice builder.You have been forcefully stranded aboard The Avarice in order to participate in an underground tournament.Find a way to win several rounds of a sadistic poker dice game that the elites have concocted on their luxury mega yacht.Will you be able to break the cycle, or will the body count keep rising?Roll your five dice to get the highest poker hand. Each round gives you 3 re-rolls. The player with the highest hand wins the round. Tutorials are intrusive and constant and completely overtake the screen without warning until you've seen them all. The effect is more disorienting than informative. Definitely, not for me.1 found this helpful
neat premise and art style, the vibes are pretty good, but the gameplay and strategy just never clicked with me fully unfortunately
I usually like these kinds of games, but I will be the first to admit I'm not great at them. That's usually fine, though- with games like these you just keep trying again and again and you'll learn/power through. But, and I don't know if this is a bug or intentional, but I died in the first match... Then when I had my restart, there was no way to start again. I had no dice, and could find no way to get more. I suppose i would need to start a new save file, but that doesn't seem very sporting... and if its a a bug then i'd be worried my progress would get obliterated every time I die. can't recommend.
Worth it for the price, with cool vibes and some interesting mechanics. Balancing definitely has some issues, where I found myself always going all in on the early games just to get through them fast to farm dice ingredients and constantly folding in the later ones just waiting for the boss to have a bad starting hand. Overall a cool and short game.
The game has a lot of potential, but could use a bit of playtesting and polish. Clearly takes inspiration from inscryption, fits nicely into the growing genre of grim gambling games (clover pit, buckshot roulette), I encountered no bugs, everything worked fine, it's beautifully stable even on my jank linux laptop -- the playtesting would be to smooth out parts of the gameplay loop. Pros: - Gorgeous high-dithering monochromatic graphics, detailed animations - Interesting escape-room vibe in your character's cabin - Different core casino game than other games in this genre Cons: - Very poor click economy. Expect to click 4 or 5 times to transition the screens necessary to just place a bet, every time, for each round of betting, which is around 3 times per hand. - Slightly too long unskippable animations. The dicerolling animation has an option to speed it up (excellent), but the finger-chopping does not. - If you die, it does not go directly to the game over screen. You have to chop off all remaining fingers first. Finger-chopping involves a click, animation, and button press per finger; around a second or so. Up to 10 seconds of "actively click things to finish…
