About Dead Static Drive
Grand Theft Cthulhu
Dead Static Drive is Grand Theft Cthulhu—a survival-horror road trip through a nightmare version of 1980s Americana. Scavenge, fight, and sneak your way across small towns and eerie highways as reality begins to unravel.
Play as Hearst, a wayward traveler searching for their missing parents—and answers—in a world collapsing under the weight of something ancient and wrong. Trust is your most valuable resource, and you’ll need to rely on others to survive. Evade the police. Protect those around you. And help stop a violent, paranoid man whose delusions are putting everyone at risk—including his own children.
You didn’t grow up here. You don’t know the streets, the faces, or the things people see after dark. All you have is a strange letter, with no return address, and a growing sense that something’s gone terribly wrong.
Your parents live out this way. Or lived. You haven’t heard from them in too long. Now there’s smoke on the horizon and strange news on the wind.
You came to find your family. You came to understand what’s happening. If you don’t keep moving, you won’t get the chance to do either.
Something stirs beneath the pavement.

Clunky controls, multitude of bugs. Game throws you into the world, tells you to go find your parents and doesn't give you any other direction, controls, or instructions on what to do and where to find things. My car broke down from about 3 hits of light objects being hit into it. Character choices are very weird and seem to make no sense stats wise. The game also got flagged as potential Malware when I first tried to launch it. Such a huge shame about this as I was really looking forward to it. Seems to me that the devs just decided to get something out the door and to finish it later. Needs at least 2 more years in the oven.16 found this helpful
Game feels like it is in beta, the follower system doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Filling up your gas tank happens instantly (no dramatic tension) and the monsters just show up without being explained.14 found this helpful
Have really dug it so far. The vibes are a really compelling line between mellow and creepy; you know *something's* coming but you can't tell what, until suddenly you get out in a parking lot and everything goes to hell. That's the sort of thing that really scratches an itch for me. Also, looooove driving in this.1 found this helpful

I'm really enjoying this game. It's not perfect, it could use a little more polish, but I'm having a lot of fun and enjoying exploring the world :)1 found this helpful
