DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue

It's been a while since I last played a DeathSpank game, and even still I hadn't forgotten it. The irreverent, often nonsensical and somewhat meta humour and interesting art style leave a lasting impression, at least on me, and going back into DeathSpank was a touch nostalgic, as well as interesting. That said, I may have good memories, but there are a few things that concern me about this title. The difficulty is all over the place - in the beginning, enemies are regually higher levels than you are and sport some very frustrating kits (flamethrower troops, exploding robots, ect.) which makes getting going a little on the rough side, and will likely cost you a few deaths. After that, the difficulty evens out a touch apart from noticeable spikes (the invincible Undead Commanders and skirting around the giant electric tower) until you reach the desert town, whereupon I started to get significantly overlevelled - to the point where mobs started to become green and grey instead of orange and red levels, and aside from choosing to tackle the frost DLC at it's level, I didn't experience any real difficulty once I reached that point, which leaves the pinnacle of difficulty being reache…

After 4 hours of gaming, my save file is corrupted and I can't play this game anymore

This is a fun game.

Never knew this game even existed until my friends starter reminiscing about the games they used to play. They tried for few minutes to remember what this games name was and were laughing when they did and the things they remembered from it. So it was on sale and I bought it and dam. 14 hours to 100% the game and I feel like I need to get the original DeathSpank. The game doesnt feel bloated and the way the quests and the map is designed you really don't miss out on anything in your playtrough. Solid gameplay, I liked the graphics a lot. If you are looking for something that you can just pick and play get this, yes it's older, yes it's EA but I never run in to bugs or glitches and it doesn't require origin to run. Good game to just pick and play for a while then come back to it when you feel like it.

Another romp of misadventure through a kingdom to bring about the second coming of justice. Art style and humour are still quite fun. Would recommend if you were a fan of the first. Game length can feel a little dragged out as there are obstacles constantly coming up thwarting you crusade, but that is part of the humour.

Don't get me wrong, the game's funny and a fun time, but this is my 2nd time trying to beat this game and my save corrupted again and I cannot load my save without the game crashing -- which is funny because I now have 2 corrupted save files in my game. Unfortunately this game received a terrible port and the devs don't care to fix these bugs. Do yourself a favor and just play the first game and forget about the sequels.
