About Deep Space Merchant

WELCOME TO THE EDGE OF THE GALAXY, COMMANDER.
Deep Space Merchant is a highly addictive, pure-mechanics trading and management simulator with a retro, text-based terminal aesthetic. You are the newly appointed manager of an isolated space station. Every day brings new ships, volatile markets, and deadly risks. Your goal? Infinite profit and survival in the cold void.Instead of relying on flashy graphics, Deep Space Merchant focuses entirely on the thrill of the deal and the satisfaction of exponential growth. Start small by trading Scrap Metal with desperate scavengers. Expand your cargo bays, scale up your operations, and soon you'll be dealing in Antimatter and Dark Matter with galactic elites. But beware—growth comes at a cost.THE GALAXY REACTS TO YOU (ADAPTIVE AI)
No single strategy works forever. An intelligent backend system monitors your playstyle and throws unique challenges your way:
  • Anti-Hoarding: Stockpiling too much of one item? You might trigger a sudden Market Crash, plummeting its value.
  • Anti-Greed: Sitting on a mountain of credits with weak defenses? Expect a targeted inside job by ruthless mercenaries.
  • Anti-Spam: Buying too many trade ships? You might attract a massive Pirate Blockade.
MANAGE A RUTHLESS ECONOMY
  • Upkeep & Finances: A massive station isn't cheap. Every module, cargo space, and ship adds to your daily upkeep. Fall behind, and your balance drops below zero.
  • The Intergalactic Bank: Out of credits? Take out a high-interest loan from the Bank to seize a rare trading opportunity—just make sure you can pay it back before the interest swallows your profits.
BUILD YOUR ECONOMIC EMPIRE
Your credits are your greatest weapon. Use your hard-earned profits to construct powerful modules:
  • Build a Hydroponics Bay or Medical Center to sustain your passengers.
  • Install a Scanner Array to optimize trade prices, or build a Smuggler's Hideout to evade pirate patrols.
  • Expand your living quarters, build a Hotel, and upgrade your Bar into a fully operational Casino to watch the credits roll in as passengers gamble their savings away.
SURVIVE THE OUTER RIM
Space is unforgiving. As your station's wealth grows, so does the threat level. Defend against deadly pirate raids, survive sudden food spoilage, and look out for rare, once-in-a-lifetime events like discovering a derelict cruiser filled with credits.KEY FEATURES:
  • Endless Procedural Economy: Negotiate mixed cargo bundles, manage 20 unique sci-fi commodities, and adapt to an ever-changing market.
  • Dynamic Scaling System: As your capacity grows, larger ships arrive. Upgrade costs dynamically scale, providing a balanced, endless "endgame" experience.
  • Atmospheric Terminal Interface: A beautifully minimalist, no-scroll interface. Watch the fading, dimming logs of your station's history as 200 unique ambient events create a deeply immersive "Captain's Log" atmosphere every single day.
  • Original Synth Soundtrack: Built-in atmospheric sci-fi music to keep you focused while you crunch the numbers.
No complicated tutorials. No massive downloads. Just you, your terminal, and the pursuit of endless wealth in the dark, quiet depths of space.

Very chill. you decide to accept or decline deals, upgrade stuff, repeat. Not a lot of bells or whistles. It will get boring pretty fast. I think it could use a lot more things to upgrade or some system to keep moving the goal post so to speak. As soon as the novelty of buying and selling wears off there isn't much left to keep you playing.
