Din’s Curse is an action RPG that takes the familiar framework of dungeon crawling and infuses it with an impressive degree of dynamism and unpredictability. Developed and published by Soldak Entertainment, it approaches the genre from a systems-driven perspective, treating its towns, dungeons, monsters, and NPCs as interconnected elements that evolve in real time. Rather than presenting a static world waiting for you to act, the game constantly simmers with activity—raids occur, townspeople die, traitors sabotage settlements, and monsters carry out their own objectives. This reactive structure transforms what could have been a conventional hack-and-slash experience into something tense, organic, and often surprising. At the heart of the game is your protagonist, a cursed soul condemned by the god Din to wander the land and redeem his wasted life. Each new town you arrive in is a fresh chance at salvation: its citizens are in peril, its dungeons are teeming with escalating threats, and you are expected to intervene before disaster consumes everything. This setup establishes a perpetual sense of urgency. Unlike RPGs where quests can be safely ignored until convenient, Din’s Curse c…

Unable to properly put in full screen mode or adjust resolution. Must disable settings in the EXE File to play. I put it in full screen with the resolution of my monitor, and then only 1/5th of the screen would show, taking up my entire monitor. Unable to change the resolution in the game at this point. Unable to play with HDR on after manually adjusting settings in the EXE File of the game properties in the windows explorer too. = (

Din's Curse is for lack of a better term a Diablo Clone. However it's more fun than Diablo or Torchlight. It's simpler, with only a threadbare story but, the gameplay is top notch. I'm still playing this game even though I want to finish some other games that have a much deeper story. And I'm even more shocked that I'm still playing this instead of something Christmasy right now. Because this isn't Christmasy at all. But, it's really fun game made by one guy and like all of this developers games it's got more heart than any AAA piece of crap. If you don't like it in the first couple of hours then you probably aren't going to like it. However, if you are like me you'll probably get hundreds of hours of fun playing this game. There's simply No good reason not to get Din's Curse or any of the other great Soldak titles. Pick it up.
