About Din's Legacy
Din's Legacy is an action RPG with mutating characters, set in a dynamic, evolving, fantasy world for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
During the Orc Schism, the entire Orc race was violently split into Dark Orcs, Zombielords, and the Mutated. The Mutated are tainted with Orc blood, a zombie parasite, and necromancer magic. This makes people seriously mistrust and even fear them. The fact that they slowly mutate over time makes it even worse. Who is going to trust you when you grow horns overnight?
Despite all of this, the Mutated are actually more closely related to the Elves, both their behavior and physically. They want to prove this to the world, but they are facing a tremendous uphill battle.
The trickster god Din was intrigued by their chaotic mutations and burning desire to prove themselves to the world. Always in need of champions, he made a pact with the Mutated. Each volunteer would become one of his champions trying to save the world wherever Din sends them. In return, each time they die in his service he resurrects them to continue their service.
Din's Legacy, as well as the Mutated's and yours, are all in your hands! Can you be the Champion that is needed?

A very interesting isometric RPG hack and slash game. Din's Legacy has a lot of interesting ideas that mostly work in the game. It has the classic trappings of the Diablo style RPG game: classes, a world to explore, quests and NPCs to encounter. It is however a very impressive example of a procedurally generated game. Previously cleared out areas will refill with enemies from nearby dungeons. Quests that aren't dealt with have consequences as the world changes. Your own characters levelling is semi-random as mutation perks are unlocked as you level up. My main criticism is it's a lot to take in at first, but I'm not sure you even could make a definitive tutorial for something like this. If you do play, pick the default warrior class and just go with default settings. Explore the world a bit, build up your gear and experience. You can disassemble gear at the crafting bench to repair your gear. You can use the greater mutations to essentially multi-class into other classes.5 found this helpful
On paper, it’s a Diablo-style ARPG where the world progresses independently: bosses scheme, factions grow stronger, areas escalate, and the town can be overrun if you fall behind. The idea is a hostile world that doesn’t care about you. The problem is that you rarely feel this system in a satisfying way. Most of the time, gameplay devolves into repetitive “lawn-mowing.” You clear an area, only for it to instantly repopulate because another boss was sent there, forcing you to spend another 10 minutes clearing the same zone again. You’re not securing ground — you’re fighting a clock. Fall behind, and everything snowballs against you. The strategic layer exists, but interacting with it mostly means more low-impact combat, where you will constantly get killed without understanding why. And the action itself is clumsy compared to better ARPGs. The same applies to character building. While the game offers many skills and free respecs, builds converge quickly: pick a spammable attack, grab teleport, stack passives. Hybrid or creative builds are allowed, but consistently outperformed. It’s less “build freedom” and more false choice. In the end, Din’s Legacy is a shallow action RPG with…2 found this helpful
A super cool ARPG with lots and lots of replayability and reactivity!1 found this helpful
Yes
It's as rough as you would expect, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s fun and addicting. A good timesinker, and I mean it: I have PoE2, Grim Dawn, Diablo IV... all the ARPGs you can think of and I still play this from time to time.
IT GOOD
