What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the art style and cohesive setting, but criticize the repetitive gameplay loop with limited boss variety, slow pacing especially early on, and punishing difficulty that feels unrewarding rather than fair—particularly frustrating gunplay against tanky early enemies and tedious survival mechanics like constant resource gathering and tool durability that feel disrespectful of player time. The game appears to cater primarily to experienced roguelite players rather than newcomers to the genre, with reviews suggesting waiting for a sale and trying the demo first.
It took me 15 minutes to see what the game thinks of me as a player
'I love the Idea and Artstyle but the Gunplay is absolutely horrid and 15 minutes in, all I am doing is gather wood, Stone, Salt, Meat, Metal, have to watch timers for food and water and barely shot Dinos. The ones I did get to shoot were unreasonably tanky considering them being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ raptors. I dont mind an anky being tanky but if your first enemy, tutorial enemy, tanks 3 to 5 PERFECT Shots and you give me a revolver with 6 Bullets, it WILL FEEL ASS. There is no way around it. Getting bombarded with walls of Text is also not fun. This game absolutely doesnt value my time as an individual. There is absolutely no need for the Stone knife to break after <10 uses. Dude, you already got me to do Survival Game stuff in a ROGUELIKE. Whats the point? I want to get stronger and have fun, not play Conan Exiles. I absolutely got the vibe of: Go to Map, mine and harvest absoutely everything as padding, craft and upgrade and be overprepared for the next run until you maybe fight a boss later on? On the note of combat: You have "infinite" dodges, as long as you carry water with you that slowly replenishes dodges. …4 found this helpful
I liked it enough to finish a couple runs, so I won't leave a negative review, but there are many better roguelites. The gameplay loop feels a little repetitive, only two bosses, and to reach the final ending you have to complete the game 6 times. Try the demo, buy it on sale.2 found this helpful
TL;DR: This game looks and feels good IMO, but I'm not experienced enough with this genre and the controls to enjoy it. It's most likely not well suited to people new to this genre. The game feels cohesive and I really like the artstyle and the setting. Even the parts that I personally dislike do make sense, so it's probably a me-issue. If you're unfamiliar with this type of game or with the typical controls, this game might not be the best introduction. What I personally dislike is that to me, the character and the shooting feel slow. The game feels overly punishing with seemingly no time after losing to set up some basic equipment again before the bounty hunters arrive. To some people, this may be motivating to get back on track as fast as possible. To me, it felt frustrating and I ended up running in circles in between the 2 shots the "pity pistol" has. The game is good as it is. I'm simply not the target audience.1 found this helpful
Very good game for killing time on an Xbox ally, very enjoyable.
Wow it this game slow to start. And dearie me please allow us to skip all the talking! I know, story story story, I don't give a darn about story, let me get into the action. Hopefully it doesn't remain this slow. I'll update once I have time to sit down and play this very slow paced game.
Dont buy it. Unless you like those games hat pad out game length by diffuclty. had potential, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the pooch.
