About Dinosaur Safari VR
Go on Safari and explore a tropical island filled with awe-inspiring and dangerous Dinosaurs. Discover their secrets and experience first-hand how these wonders of a bygone world lived and died right before your very eyes! Can you spot the Ankylosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Compsognathus, Dilophosaurus, Dimetrodon, Oviraptor, Parasaurolophus, Pteranodon, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the vicious Velociraptor!
This zoo-like experience is fairly simple. The user navigates around an island using teleport style navigation common to VR controllers (in this early release version the Rift touch controllers are the only controllers available). The user can click the trigger button and aim at any particular type of dinosaur to play a brief audio narration.

Графика, конечно, не самая реалистичная, но достаточна для создания атмосферы. Управление интуитивно понятное, а механика "сафари" - фотографирование динозавров, сканирование их ДНК - увлекает. По мере продвижения открываются новые локации и виды динозавров, что подогревает интерес. Однако, игре не хватает разнообразия в заданиях. В основном, это просто поиск и фотографирование определенных динозавров. Добавив больше интерактивных элементов, например, задания по спасению динозавров или изучению их поведения, можно значительно улучшить игровой процесс. В целом, "Dinosaur Safari VR" - это отличный способ погрузиться в мир динозавров, особенно для новичков в VR. "Dinosaur Safari VR" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "Dinosaur Safari VR" is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition. The exhibition itself is just an on-rails "Dinosaur tour" where you get to look at a bunch of low quality dinosaur assets that the developer probably ripped off from an asset store. We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever film school dropouts are desperate for anyone to give them validation, so they publish their short film on Steam because nobody watches their garbage on Youtube. There was a video section on Steam, but it's deprecated and basically closed, so failed filmmakers seem to just try to abuse the Steam games section instead. Why is this good for gamers? It's not. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the play…
