About DinoSystem

⚠️ WARNING: The Remote Play Together tag is used solely to enable multi-device play and does not indicate any multiplayer functionality.DinoSystem is a 2D top-down ecosystem and survival simulation. Play as a godlike overseer managing the ecology of an evolving island populated by dinosaurs — or as a human trying to survive in it, facing realistic survival mechanics and a deep character progression system that tracks your body’s physical adaptation over time.

🦕 A Living, Emergent World

Every element on the island follows biological and physical rules. Nothing spawns from thin air: will you hunt the last dinosaur of its species for a steak, or protect it from extinction and ensure its eggs hatch? These are the dilemmas you'll face — if you don’t go extinct first.

⚙️ Development

To learn more about the upcoming features planned for 1.0 and beyond, check out the development roadmap. Feel free to join the discussion and suggest new ideas!

🕹️ Game Modes

 • God Mode: Control the island's ecology, change the weather, trigger disasters, and observe how nature reacts.
 • Survival Mode: Start as a stranded human. See how long you can survive — and how your body changes with your lifestyle.

🌍 World Simulation Features

 • True ecological simulation: animals and plants are born, grow, reproduce, and die. No artificial “spawns”.
 • Seasons and day/night cycle: gradual transitions with sun angle, temperature, and light dynamically affecting the environment.
 • Advanced weather model: dynamic rain, fog, storms, snow, wind, and sandstorms, driven by real variables like humidity and air pressure.
 • Realistic water cycle: puddles form, evaporate or turn into lakes depending on temperature, humidity, and sun exposure.
 • Terrain evolves: fertility, vegetation, and water presence can transform areas over time.
 • Dynamic fire system: reacts to weather, spreads with fuel and wind, and affects all nearby objects and characters. Wildfires triggered by lightning can spread and destroy forests.
 • Animal AI: survival-driven behavior with reproduction, parenting, foraging, and territorial conflict.
 • Procedural island generation at game start, based on player settings.
 • Real decomposition: items decay based on weather and environment, not artificial timers.

🧍 Survival Features

 • Dynamic body evolution: your appearance and abilities change based on fat, muscle, and diet. Adapt for winter, combat, or speed.
 • Needs are systemic, not scripted: thirst, hunger, and fatigue respond to climate, weight, exertion, metabolism, and more.
 • Complex skill system: skills improve with use and decay with neglect.
 • Crafting & building: create gear, weapons, clothes, and build shelters (or find a cave).
 • Food system: nutritional values matter. Protein from meat helps muscle growth — but don’t forget to cook it!
Many more features will be added throughout development. Follow the roadmap, and get involved in shaping the game!

📝 Note for Laptop Users

If you experience poor performance despite having a dedicated GPU, Windows might be running the game on the integrated graphics.
To ensure optimal performance, open Settings → System → Display → Graphics, search for DinoSystem.exe, and set it to use your High Performance GPU (usually your dedicated graphics card).

(Follow my curator for more reviews like this) DinoSystem is a standout among survival games. At first, it appeared like yet another half-finished early access title as there's not a lot in the way of content. Only a handful of animal and plant species, and a crafting menu so small it only fills 1/4th of the screen. But once I engaged with the game and learned how it worked, it quickly became my favorite of this genre. What it lacks in quantity, it makes up for in depth. Unlike the average survival game, everything here is simulated. Nothing spawns out of nowhere, every single plant and animal must reproduce naturally. Dinosaurs lay eggs from which young ones hatch, mammals have a funny mating animation as they copulate and make young, plants drop seeds which grow into new trees, etc. Plants require water and sunlight. Animals require water, food, and sleep. After they've eaten, they poop, which fertilizes the ground for plants to grow better. Everything interacts with everything else at all times. You are dropped into this ecosystem and have to survive as best you can. The various animals will tr…

To date, in my entire gaming experience, I do not think that I have found a more enjoyable survival game for the "price to enjoyment" ratio. Although this game may be simple in comparison to "survival" games made by large studios, the developer has created an experience that is highly repeatable and extremely satisfying. In this game, things don't just spawn randomly; everything is part of a living ecosystem that will either flourish or fall into decay. As the player you have the opportunity to become a master cultivator of a lush tropical paradise, or the sad survivor of a desolate wasteland. This game is absolutely worth every penny and I would much rather play Dinosystem than most of the recycled crud that major game studios call "survival games" today.

A truly hidden gem, I have no doubt this game is capable of being a forever game, infinite playability in early access? I already know what to expect from full release.
