Dirty Room

"Dirty Room" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. There's a promising premise here, of course, detective investigating stuff which results in a bit of FPS violence (who doesn't love that, it's the primary and most successful game format on Steam) but the quality of this one is straight through the floor. It's not at all helped by the unethical acts of the developer pushing this as free when it's not, you have to pay money to get all the content. It's never okay, at least in my book, when developers misleadingly push something as free when we all know it isn't. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. This game is a lot of fun. It's definitely buggy, the voice acting is terrible, and the English translation is bad, but you can understand everything just fine. Some glitches are pretty annoying, but the fun of the game outweighs the frustration. This is a horror action game that prioritizes shooting and stealth over atmosphere and scares. Some levels are easy, and some are extremely hard, but they're all a good time.

It barely functions. The first few chapters are free and I would normally recommend a free game even if it isn't very good, but this one just isn't worth the download time.

I have over an hour in this game so im not sure why it only says 14 minutes... but besides that this game has potential and looks great but is a bitt hard, especially since they want you to grab a fire extinguisher to shoot it with a gun rather than just use it... and also for some reason your character is the size of like a chair, so seeing over desks isnt to easy. not sure how they didnt notice how tiny you are but besides that id give this game a 3/10, theres something that could be made here and id like to see what else they make.

Well its not pretending to be anything but a horror game... which it barely manages to keep up. Biggest issue for me was actually playing it. I simply cant trigger the boss fight for chapter 2. And all you have to do after listening to some half-baked, stretched out ai voice-lines is get into an elevator leaving from where you came. But it doesnt. restarted several times. doesnt work. bad game.
