I gave up on it after multiple attempts. Crashing while pausing, stamina not replenishing...it just isn't for me. I have a newborn in the house...if I cannot pause a game without it crashing it is unplayable for me. There may be something here worth playing in the future...but it needs a LOT more testing and fixes. Also...why does this game want access to bypass my firewall? That is a bit weird to me...

"Discrepant" is yet another of literally thousands of mostly asset flipped first person horror adventure games infesting Steam. This one has you chasing some weird escaped critter or something... there's nothing here in terms of professional quality. A lot of effort went into game design here that isn't matched by the low quality assets and sloppy assembly. It's an unpolished train wreck, so it's no wonder this failed. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging a delusional $10 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure.
