i really love doloc town. something about it really scratches that farming game itch i've had for a while now. i really love the setting and art, and the gameplay is simple yet deep. my favourite mechanic is the seed genetics! it's really satisfying to create the perfect GMO crop. the world and story are also interesting, and i can't wait for the full release next month!2 found this helpful
Normally, when playing 2D side-scrolling games, usually see farming systems merely as a side feature. Doloc Town it feels completely different. farming is the core experience, and it’s so fun. The game is set in a post apocalyptic world that evokes a lonely, desolate atmosphere. at the same time, the relationships among the NPCs living in town bring a heartwarming feel to the experience. soundtrack contributes immensely to this vibe it’s charming, concept of container farming, which fits the game's art style brilliantly. gameplay is engaging, featuring systems like seed genetics, fish breeding, and environmental factors that affect your crops. Combat in the game relies on drones, which you can either craft yourself or pick up as monster drops. However, combat isn't the main focus , the game is still in early access game , there's only one boss so far and the maps are fairly limited. QoL features unlocked through quest progression make the game run much smoother compared to the early patches. Looking ahead, the developers plan to introduce even more automated farming systems. All of this makes waiting for the full release next month incredibly exciting1 found this helpful
If Stardew had a bit of Terraria's platforming and combat, you'd get this adorably relaxing game.1 found this helpful
It's like Stardew Valley but side-scrolling instead of top down. It's also got the different flavor with like the post-human anti-pollution thing. I've played a few other farm/life games and most don't have the soul that Stardew did, and I think this one also has the soul.
game mechanics and features are very well developed. Content is still early access. Lots of progress from this time last year when I last played it!
After 143 hours, I can confidently recommend cozy farming and exploration games. The pixel art is beautiful, the soundtrack is relaxing, and the post-apocalyptic world is gud. The gameplay is fun, and kept me hooked for over 100 hours without feeling repetitive. The game is still in Early Access, but it's already a experience. Give it a try, spending far more time here than you expected :)) maybe 8/10 i guess
