Dominate Square

Dominate Square is a simple, minimalist tic-tac-toe style "puzzle" game. Gameplay is a bit like Othello meets Rock-Paper-Scissors. You are given a random tile to place and can rotate it to see determine which adjacent tiles are affected. Each tile has one of four elements with the usual water beats fire circular heirarchy going on. If you "beat" an adjacent tile when you place one of yours, it will flip to your colour. The objective is to fill the board with more tiles of your colour than the enemy. It's a novel idea but I'm not sure why this is on Steam as a PC game. The implementation is minimalist, locked at a low resolution with no way to change it, and could easily be done in Flash, in a web browser, or on mobile phones, which is what this kind of thing is usually intended for. The game isn't in English, but there's no real text to worry about and the game is easy to pick up, the question is more about why anyone would want to play this on PC. I didn't buy a gaming rig to pretend it's an iPhone. The game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration.…

Простые правила обманчивы, ведь для победы необходимо просчитывать ходы наперед и адаптироваться к действиям соперника. Мне особенно понравилось, как постепенно возрастает сложность, вводя новые механики и типы фигур, что не дает заскучать. Визуальное оформление минималистично, но приятно глазу, без лишних отвлекающих элементов. Интерфейс интуитивно понятен, разобраться в нем можно за считанные секунды. Музыкальное сопровождение ненавязчивое и создает расслабляющую атмосферу, что позволяет сосредоточиться на игре. Несмотря на простой концепт, 'Dominate Square' предлагает часы увлекательного геймплея. Это идеальный вариант для коротких перерывов, когда хочется размять мозги. Небольшим минусом можно назвать отсутствие полноценной кампании с сюжетом, но это с лихвой компенсируется режимом игры против AI с различными уровнями сложности и возможностью соревноваться с друзьями. Рекомендую всем любителям логических игр!
