About DreamFly

DreamFly: The game that simulates flights in your dreams. Immerse into the atmosphere of traveling through the world of dreams. But before you start your adventure, you will need to, well, learn how to fly. At first, it will seem to be impossible to take off. But don’t worry! After some practice you will fly with almost no effort, enjoy the process, and, maybe, even master some aerobatics!

Playing this game requires physical activity. So you can treat it as fitness!

The game basically has no explicit controls. You have a pair of wings attached to your hands (motion controllers). The rest depend on you movements and physics (especially aerodynamics). If you want to take off try flapping your wings (have you noticed how the birds do it 🤔?). If you want to change direction, think how to position your wings, so the airflow turns you into desired direction.

Hint: after reaching a certain speed, you can simply glide with no effort!
Hint: a quick way to gain speed is to fly up, and then dive, until you reach the desired speed.

Note: DreamFly requires VR head mounted display and motion controllers. It supports Oculus Rift + Touch and HTC Vive. Other VR platforms have not been tested.
This game is in early access. It includes one level with sandbox gameplay.

WARNING!
For the new players, It is advisable to have someone to insure against falling during the game. Otherwise, if there is a risk of falling, it is better to play sitting. If you begin to feel motion sickness, it is recommended to interrupt the gaming session. It is advisable to begin the game with the short sessions.

not very intuitive, but I managed to figure it out after about 15 minutes (which is to say, I managed to not spiral out of control right after takeoff). Pretty fun for a short while, if you want to flap your arms about this is the game to do it. It's free as of posting, and definitely worth trying if your playspace has room for standing and waving your arms. The game says it may not support my headset (quest 2), but I didn't run into any problems or bugs. Large map, solid graphics, the flight is fun once you get the hang of it. Sorta wish there was options to remove the bird wings because this kinda makes me feel like a furry (feathery?)

As of now, after a 15-minute stint of playing, I can already say I LOVE this game. My experience for the first 8 minutes: Went up, did a backflip, came down. Went sideways and smashed through a tree. Figured out how to do up, did so, then instantly fell and crashed. -But I figured out how to go up! Went up, figured out how to stay up, crashed into the sea. Tried and failed to take off from the sea. ...and so forth. But I figured it out! There IS a learning curve, but with experimentation I figured out how to fly and made it all the way to the huge floating planet thing. How to fly 101 by a mostly successful bird: Hold your arms at a 100% angle, sort of out in front of you. To go up, tilt your wings back slightly (feathers pointing at an angle down) and flap large, medium speed. To turn, tilt one wing in and flap with the other one. To crash, wave arms wildly. Love the game. The map's pretty, graphics are good. Flying is an amazing experience. And the game's free, so what do you have to loose?

Constant visual glitches, buttons don't work, game freezes and crashes on exit, nothing to do beyond figuring out the physics, and yet this is one of the coolest experiences I've had. If you're a fan of movement-focused VR titles like Jet Island or Gorilla Tag, then definitely give this a try. It's unforgiving, and probably a no-go if you have motion sickness, but it also only took me maybe 15 minutes to get the hang of it. I'd love to see this mechanic implemented into an actual game or this expanded and polished to provide some goals to achieve. For everyone complaining about the difficulty, spend some more time birdwatching and/or dreaming. It's really not that bad.

worked great with my oculus rift! absolute nightmare to get off the ground with an index though. the wings do Not work the same on newer headsets, and i suspect thats why so many people have so much trouble with this it was fun while it lasted at least

in the 6 minutes or so i played before my eyes hurt i discovered that they were not lying, as learning to fly is HARD, but when u get in the air and its just you and the wind it sure is nice. In other news, "WHY AM I TILTING LEFT," was a phrase that i said repeatedly and after reading the reviews still have no idea.
